  • Patent number: 12345115
Abstract: Provided is a method for setting a downhole tool, and a downhole localized heater. The method, in at least one aspect, includes positioning a downhole tool within a wellbore, the downhole tool including expandable metal configured to expand in response to hydrolysis, and positioning a downhole localized heater within the wellbore, the downhole localized heater being proximate the expandable metal. The method additionally includes subjecting the expandable metal to a wellbore fluid to expand the expandable metal into contact with one or more surfaces while activating the downhole localized heater to create a temperature spike and accelerate an expansion of the expandable metal.

  • Patent number: 12060790
Abstract: A system comprising a sensor device to perform measurements in a wellbore. The system may also include a wireless transmitter to transmit a signal representing the measurements to a wired transmission system. The wired transmission system may transmit the signal to an interrogation system. A radioisotope power source may provide electrical power to the sensor system in the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 11988084
Abstract: A sealed enclosure can include a glass portion that can be positioned with respect to an electromagnetic component that is in an area defined by the sealed enclosure. The enclosure can prevent fluid from a wellbore environment from contacting the electromagnetic component and to allow the electromagnetic component to wirelessly communicate with a component external to the sealed enclosure. A second portion interfaces with the glass portion for preventing the fluid from the wellbore environment from contacting the electromagnetic component.

  • Patent number: 11955892
Abstract: A system that includes a first transistor to provide a drive voltage to a coupled inductor is disclosed. The coupled inductor can receive the drive voltage and generate a voltage output. A second transistor can receive a switching voltage generated from the voltage output to isolate a load positionable downhole in a wellbore from a voltage source.

  • Publication number: 20240084648
Abstract: A method comprising transmitting, by an electric conductor disposed in a wellbore, a time-varying electric signal to a first reflector wirelessly coupled to the electric conductor and a sensor, wherein the sensor is wirelessly coupled to the electric conductor via the first reflector, receiving a first reflected signal from the first reflector, analyzing the first reflected signal to determine a sensor value for the sensor, and determining, based on the sensor value, one or more downhole parameters.

  • Publication number: 20230198410
Abstract: Certain aspects and features relate to a system that includes a first transistor to provide a drive voltage to a coupled inductor. The coupled inductor can receive the drive voltage and generate a voltage output. A second transistor can receive a switching voltage generated from the voltage output to isolate a load positionable downhole in a wellbore from a voltage source.

  • Publication number: 20220364419
Abstract: A system can include a first wireless coupler and a second wireless coupler. The first wireless coupler can include a first laminated core that can be wrapped around a tubular and a first wire wrapped around the first laminated core. The second wireless coupler can include a second wire that can be positioned coaxially around the first wire and at a distance from the first wire for facilitating wireless power transfer between the first wireless coupler and the second wireless coupler. The second wireless coupler may or may not include a second laminated core wrapped around the second wire.
