  • Patent number: 6900471
Abstract: Method for defining the color group of an LED which emits mixed-color, in particular white, light. The CIE color space is divided by means of a network with two sets of intersecting network lines, one set being provided by a set of Judd straight lines and the other set by the line for the color loci of a Planckian radiator and also the associated lines of constant threshold value deviation, so that the network has a plurality of network cells bounded by network lines. The color locus of the LED is determined, and the network cell is determined in which the color locus of the LED is located. The LED is assigned to the color group of the network cell.

  • Patent number: 6837605
Abstract: In an LED illumination system for illuminating a surface (5) with a predetermined illumination distribution, comprising at least one LED semiconductor body (2) which emits light symmetrical to a main beam direction (9) of the LED semiconductor body (2), illumination optics (4) are disposed between the at least one LED semiconductor body (2) and the surface (5) that is to be illuminated, which optics deflect the emitted light (6) asymmetrically relative to the main beam direction (9) of the LED semiconductor body (2). This makes it possible to purposely adjust the illumination of the surface (5) regardless of its shape.

  • Patent number: 6783284
Abstract: An optical for wavelength reference measurement has in essence an optical conductor with integrated fiber Bragg grating that has a transmission maximum at a desired wavelength. Arranged downstream of the fiber Bragg grating is a photoreceiver receiving the measuring radiation beam passing through the fiber Bragg grating. If desired, it is possible to use a beam splitter to produce a reference radiation beam that is detected in a further photoreceiver.

  • Patent number: 6550982
Abstract: An optoelectronic module is disclosed, which can be connected optically and electrically in a simply way. The optoeletronic module consists of a SMD-housing (1) for the electrical connection and a connector (5), on which a MT-plug is fitted, for the optical connection. The SMD-housing is assigned to the MT-plug. It includes a plug connector (5), which contains the optical/electrical interface and is positively fixed in the housing.

  • Patent number: 6540413
Abstract: In a fiber-optic transmitting component, either an adjusting sleeve (3) or a fiber flange is provided with a polarization filter (5) and an adjustment step is performed in which the adjusting sleeve (3) or the fiber flange is connected to the housing (2) of a light-emitting device (1). An axial angular position of the adjusting sleeve (3) or of the fiber flange in relation to the housing (2) is determined during a measurement of the light output from the light-emitting device (1) that has passed through the polarization filter (5), and the adjusting sleeve (3) or the fiber flange is then fixed to the housing at this relative angular position.

  • Publication number: 20020021871
Abstract: An optoelectronic surface-mountable module includes an optoelectronic component mounted on a transparent substrate. The optoelectronic component is connected to internal electrical connections which are coupled via electrical leads to external electrical connections. The external electrical connections define a light entry or exit opening. The external electrical connections are formed by a BGA, a lead frame or a plastic support with through contacts. An optical waveguide can be coupled to a circuit board of an optoelectronic coupling unit containing the module.

  • Patent number: 6307197
Abstract: A method for calibrating an optoelectronic component having a light emitter/receiver unit and a connection unit includes the steps of setting an initial relative position of a first part and a second part of the connection unit. After that, the first part is displaced in a reference plane relative to the light emitter/receiver unit. Next, the first part is affixed to the light emitter/receiver unit. Then the second part is displaced relative to the first part and is also affixed to the light emitter/receiver unit. An optoelectronic component is also provided.
