  • Publication number: 20220101637
Abstract: A computer-implemented method estimates a course of a roadway in a surrounding area of a vehicle on the basis of a state function describing the course of a roadway. The state function includes a clothoid spline. The method includes providing surrounding-area measurement data describing the course of a roadway at a current position of the vehicle, the surrounding-area measurement data having at least one polynomial function. The method also includes transforming the state function and the surrounding-area measurement data into a common coordinate system. The method further includes adapting the state function on the basis of the surrounding-area measurement data in the common coordinate system.

  • Patent number: 9403533
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle using a control unit during operation of a fully-automatic driver assistance system is designed to guide the vehicle independently of the driver. The control unit actuates a drive unit and/or a brake unit during operation of said driver assistance system such that the motor vehicle maintains a predefined distance to a vehicle in front which is detected as a target object, the control unit also actuating the actuation unit of a steering system such that the motor vehicle is kept within its own detected lane. If the vehicle in front, detected as the target object, leaves the detected lane and if there is no new preceding vehicle, a braking action is performed.

  • Patent number: 9051008
Abstract: A driving aid system is provided for assisting a motor vehicle during a change of lane. The system includes a device monitoring the lateral side space and a device monitoring the directional stability. The lateral space monitoring device is designed to determine the degree of risk (for example, two levels: dangerous/not dangerous, or three levels: low/medium/high risk) represented by a change of lane. At the high risk level, a first driving aid reaction occurs, at least in the form of a counter-steering, which is regulated by a link existing between the lateral space monitoring device and the directional stability monitoring device and is expressed by a reorientation towards the specific traffic lane or by maintaining the directional stability. At the low risk level, a second driving-aid reaction is triggered, which is less perceptible and depends on the degree of likelihood of the intention to change lane.
