  • Publication number: 20080096794
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a peptide mixture comprising peptides with a molecular weight from 1000 to 5000 Daltons for the prevention and/or treatment of tumour diseases, of diseases which are associated with a development disorder of the immune system, of diseases of the immune system, of autoimmune reactions, of allergies and of inflammation in man, a protein component which contains such a peptide mixture and a formula food containing this peptide mixture. The peptides are preferably obtained from non-human proteins suitable for nutritional purposes, in particular by the enzymatic or hydrolytic cleavage of these proteins.

  • Publication number: 20070004656
Abstract: The invention relates to novel enzymes, which transfer sialic acid from a donor molecule onto an acceptor molecule (trans-sialidases). The enzymes are isolated from the protozoan Trypanosoma congolense.

  • Publication number: 20050222080
Abstract: Described is the use of in particular homopolymer cycloglycans having a ring-shaped base structure of 2 to 40 monosaccharides in the ring, for preventing the invasion and infection of mammal cells by pathogens, and for combating diseases caused by such pathogens, and food compositions, dietetic compositions and pharmaceutical compositions containing these cycloglycans.

  • Publication number: 20050070464
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of sialic carbohydrates of general formula (I), containing at least one carbohydrate unit of general formula (II) for the immune modulation, immune suppression and in the prevention and treatment of infections in humans and animals.

  • Publication number: 20050004070
Abstract: Neutral straight-chain or branched oligosaccharides for preventing the invasion and infection of mammal cells by pathogens and for fighting diseases caused by such pathogens are disclosed. Food, dietetic products and pharmaceutical agents containing oligosaccharides consist of a base unit of formula (I), and between 0 and 19 other units of formula (II), which are linked directly or indirectly to the base unit. Gal represents a galactose monosaccharide unit; Glc represents a glucose monosaccharide unit; HexNAc rpresents an N-acetylated galactosamine or glucosamine monosaccharide unit (GalNAc or GlcNAc); R independently represent a ? 1-3 or ? 1-6 glycosidic link to HexNAc monosaccharide of the next [Gal-HexNAc] unit (II), and on a terminal [Gal-HexNAc] unit, or R are not present; and a terminal [Gal-HexNAc] unit, wherein R represent a deoxyhexose radical, can have another deoxyhexose radical on the HexNAc monosaccharide unit.

  • Patent number: 6136067
Abstract: The filtering plant has a plurality of porous, gas-permeable filter elements with at least one raw gas side and at least one clean gas side. The gas to be cleaned (raw gas) flows towards the raw gas side, and the clean gas side is connected with a clean gas passage. Into the clean gas passage and into the filter elements, pulse gas coming from a pressure vessel is introduced for periodically detaching dust adhering at the raw gas side. Via a gas-permeable passage, the pressure vessel is connected with a measuring chamber having a smaller volume than the pressure vessel. While pulse gas flows out of the pressure vessel into the clean gas passage and to the filter elements, the pressure difference .DELTA.p=p1-p2 is measured and monitored, where p1 is the static pressure in the measuring chamber, and p2 is the static pressure in the pressure vessel. Expediently, an alarm signal is activated when the maximum of the pressure difference falls below a predetermined minimum value.

  • Patent number: 5843206
Abstract: A device for unblocking filters by means of bursts of gas. The gas is kept in a tank (7) and supplied to filter-unclogging lances by lines (8). Each line (8) accommodates several valves (11 & 12) parallel with respect to their intakes and outlets. Controls (14) time all the valves to open simultaneously but for different lengths of time. The flow of gas supplied to the simple or compound filter is accordingly divided into subsidiary streams, one or more of which is discontinued before the other or others.

  • Patent number: 4886317
Abstract: In a motor car seat with a variable-angle backrest and having an arm support retained on the frame of the backrest which is foldable down from an essentially vertical erect non-use position in line with the backrest into a lower substantially horizontal use position. While in the use position of the arm support, the backrest maintains its alignment at least during the changing of the backrest during normal driver seat back inclination adjustment, in order to prevent the arm support from striking operating parts of the vehicle; and wherein, when the backrest is folded forwards such as to allow a passenger to exit from a rear seat, the arm support is guided to maintain its position substantially horizontal and above the shift lever arranged on the central console.
