  • Publication number: 20240077200
Abstract: A burner (10) for heating a furnace (40) includes at least one oxidizing gas supply line (20) for supplying an oxidizing gas into the furnace, the at least one oxidizing gas supply line having a central oxidizing gas supply line (21) for supplying the oxidizing gas together with a first annular supply line (22) surrounding the central oxidizing gas supply line for supplying a first shroud gas flow (25) for the oxidizing gas, at least one fuel supply line (30) for supplying a fuel into the furnace, the at least one fuel supply line including a central fuel supply line (31) for supplying the fuel together with a second annular supply line (32) surrounding the central fuel supply line for supplying a second shroud gas flow (35) for the fuel, wherein the first shroud gas flow is initially sucked into itself and subsequently an atmosphere of the furnace is sucked into itself for a point of recirculation of the atmosphere to be away from a refractory wall of the furnace such that particles are reduced in the atmosp

  • Patent number: 11852336
Abstract: A method for heating a furnace (40) used for metal processing by combusting a fuel in the furnace (40) by supplying an oxidizing gas through an oxidizing gas supply line (20) into the furnace (40) and by supplying a fuel through a fuel supply line (30) into the furnace (40), wherein the oxidizing gas is supplied in form of a central oxidizing gas flow (24) together with a first shroud gas flow (25), and/or the fuel is supplied in form of a central fuel flow (34) together with a second shroud gas flow (35), and to a corresponding burner (10).

  • Publication number: 20070215019
Abstract: A method for recovery of metals or metal compounds from metal-bearing solid particles comprising volatile compounds comprises supplying the solid particles (50) through a flame (25) of a burner (20). The volatile compounds are then evaporated by means of heat from the flame (25) without melting the solid particles, thereby providing a raw material product (34). The raw material product (34) is then recovered. By feeding the solid particles directly to the flame, a compact and efficient plant is provided. The melting process can be controlled in a satisfying way, avoiding melting of the metal-bearing solid particles supplied through the burner. The use of a burner is also described.

  • Patent number: 6989043
Abstract: A method for recovery of metals from essentially metallic fines comprises the following steps: supplying said essentially metallic fines to a flame of a burner (20), bringing said fines to agglomerate by means of heat from the flame without essentially changing the chemical composition thereof, thereby providing an essentially metallic agglomerated product. The agglomerated product is subsequently recovered, preferably in a furnace (30). By means of the method, the recovery of metals is facilitated. An apparatus for performing the method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6923129
Abstract: A method for treatment of sludge is disclosed, wherein the sludge has a liquid part and metal-containing particles intermixed therein. The particles comprise metal, metal oxide or metal hydroxide and the method comprises the following steps: atomising the sludge; supplying the atomised sludge to a flame of a burner provided in a furnace; bringing the liquid part of the sludge to vaporize by means of the flame while maintaining said flame by means of a separate fuel supply; and bringing at least part of the metal-containing particles to melt by means of the flame. This provides an efficient method for taking care of waste material from plants in the steel or petrochemical industry, for example.
