  • Patent number: 8209414
Abstract: A method for connecting a storage device to an information generating device includes transferring an identifying message from the storage device to a control server via a computer network. The identifying message includes a unique identifier uniquely identifying the storage device, matching a registered information generating system to the unique identifier, and identifying at least one information generating device included in the matched information generating system. A configuration message is transferred from the control server to the storage device, and the configuration message includes an address to the identified at least one information generating device and instructions of interaction. The instructions of interaction are arranged to define how the transfer of generated information is to be performed.

  • Publication number: 20120016985
Abstract: A method for connecting a monitoring device to a service server includes retrieving an address relating to a control server from a memory of the monitoring device and, sending a connection message from the monitoring device to the address relating to a control server in response to a connecting event. At the control server, an identifier is extracted from the communication between the monitoring device and the control server, a service server associated with the extracted identifier is identified and an address relating to the identified service server is sent from the control server to the monitoring device. A connection message from the monitoring device is sent to the identified service server in response to the receipt of the address related to the identified service server. A service connection is established between the monitoring device and the identified server.

  • Patent number: 8032881
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic device and a method for updating firmware in a number of electronic devices connected to a data network. First, a firmware in a first electronic device of said plurality of electronic devices is configured. Then, a firmware update file is generated in said first electronic device, based upon said configured firmware by using a firmware update file generator. Next, the firmware update file is transmitted from the first electronic device to a number of electronic devices via a data network. Finally, the firmware is updated in the number of electronic devices by executing said firmware update file in each of the electronic devices.

  • Publication number: 20100064029
Abstract: A network connector device and a method for making image information sent through a first digital network accessible by a second digital network. A first and a second network connector are arranged to pass on digital network traffic, a network traffic buffer buffers the digital network traffic, an image session identifier identifies a network session from the buffered digital network traffic, containing image information. An image session tracker tracks the identified network session containing image information, an image extractor extracts image information from the identified network session containing image information, and an image information buffer buffers the extracted image information. An image information arranger arranges the image information from the image information buffer into at least one image sequence of related images, and a server makes accessible the at least one image sequence via a third network connector.

  • Patent number: 6813312
Abstract: A data storage and reduction method for digital images having a chronological order involves storing a first and chronologically new image or group of images at a first image quality requiring a first amount of storage space, and processing a second image or group of images, chronologically older than said first image or group of images, by reducing the image quality thereof to a second image quality requiring a second amount of storage space, which is less than said first amount of storage space. Advantageously, the method is used for a surveillance system, comprising a camera, a digital storage device and an image storage controller, wherein image quality is reduced for old or otherwise less important images or groups of images, thereby obtaining additional storage space for allowing more important images (such as images relating to an alarm event) to be stored at higher image quality, while retaining an extended total recording time span.
