  • Patent number: 10341894
Abstract: Techniques, such as might be implemented in a wireless device operating in a wireless network, for reporting measurements of interference affecting a wireless service provided by the wireless network. An example method includes receiving (210), from the wireless network, configuration information instructing the wireless device to perform measurements on one or more radio resources or signals, where the one or more radio resources or signals are solely associated with one or more wireless services that the wireless device is at least currently unable to use. The method further includes performing (220) one or more measurements on the radio resources or signals, in accordance with the received configuration information, and selectively reporting (230) results of the measurements, based on the configuration information.

  • Patent number: 10327249
Abstract: A network node is connected to a plurality of antenna nodes that are located along a constrained path where a plurality of wireless communication devices are located. The antenna nodes are controlled to maintain reception radio lobes substantially along the path such that the wireless communication devices can perform uplink radio communication with the network node via the reception radio lobes. At least one radio frequency, RF, signal is detected and a determination is made that the detected at least one RF signal originates from a respective wireless communication device of a specific subset among said plurality of wireless communication devices. The specific subset comprises wireless communication devices that are associated with a common radio frequency offset. An allocation of a common uplink radio communication resource is then made for all wireless communication devices in the specific subset of wireless communication devices.

  • Publication number: 20190159047
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for testing mobile terminals in an OFDMA system, in which all or part of available downlink radio resources in a cell are transmitted. A processing unit in a test apparatus splits a set of contiguous resource blocks into separate contiguous portions. A first contiguous portion of the set of resource blocks is allocated to users of a first type, and a second contiguous portion of the set of resource blocks is allocated to users of a second type. A transmitter in the test apparatus transmits test signals to the users of the first type and the second type using the at least one contiguous set of resource blocks.

  • Publication number: 20190149412
Abstract: The operating configuration at a node in a wireless communication network, at a neighboring node in the network, and/or at one or more wireless devices supported by the network, is updated based on determining timing information for an impending interruption of a radio link in the network to avoid erroneous operation during the impending interruption, which interruption is associated with an external system. The determination of interruption timing, which may be inferred, e.g., from detecting prior interruptions, or which may be known from information about the external system, and the modification of the operating configuration(s) permits the network to operate with greater stability, control, and accuracy during the interruptions than would be possible if the interruptions were simply treated as intermittent radio link failures.

  • Patent number: 10291260
Abstract: Decoding of a first message is disclosed, wherein first and second messages are encoded by a code (represented by a state machine) to produce first and second code words, which are received over a communication channel. • Publication number: 20190123840
Abstract: There are provided methods, apparatuses, and computer programs for improving measurement of a reference signal parameter measured by a wireless device, the reference signal parameter being a parameter of a reference signal transmitted by a radio network node in a wireless communication network. An example method includes determining that the wireless device is operating with a low measurement accuracy condition that affects measurement of the reference signal parameter. A severity of the low measurement accuracy condition has a positive correlation with the quality of a channel over which the reference signal is received. The method further includes adapting a first measurement bandwidth in response to determining that the wireless device has the low measurement accuracy condition that is positively correlated with the quality of the channel. The method further includes measuring a first reference signal parameter using the adapted first measurement bandwidth.
