  • Patent number: 8809506
Abstract: A vaccine for delaying an onset of or for treatment of an ?-synuclein-related disorder in an individual comprises a therapeutically effective amount of isolated stabilized soluble ?-synuclein oligomer having a lower formation rate to a non-soluble aggregated form than a non-stabilized oligomer of the ?-synuclein. An antibody for delaying an onset of or for treatment of an ?-synuclein-related disorder in an individual binds soluble ?-synuclein. Methods for delaying an onset of for treatment or for prevention of an ?-synuclein-related disorder employ the vaccine or antibody. Methods of detecting ?-synuclein oligomers employ the antibody.

  • Patent number: 8797889
Abstract: A radio base station transmits data symbols to a mobile terminal on multiple frequency carriers, e.g., in accordance with the MC-WCDMA or cmda2000 3x air interface protocols. The radio base station instructs the mobile terminal to report channel quality measurements obtained by the terminal for the multiple carriers over the same uplink channel during successive reporting intervals. According to one embodiment, the mobile terminal reports channel quality by receiving data symbols transmitted on a plurality of frequency carriers in a multi-carrier CDMA environment and measuring channel quality for the different frequency carriers. The mobile terminal reports individual ones of the channel quality measurements over the same uplink channel during successive reporting intervals.

  • Publication number: 20130308487
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for handling unreliable scheduling grants in a WCDMA-communication system. A user equipment detects that a received scheduling grant is unreliable and adjust its serving grant based on that information. The user equipment is also able to report continuously received unreliable grants as an event to the network, allowing the network to adapt its operation to reduce the unreliable grants.

  • Patent number: 8380196
Abstract: A method and arrangement for handover wherein the handover resource (the dedicated random access preamble) is reserved by the target radio base station (RBS) for a limited period of time, thus increasing the handover efficiency and thereby allowing random access preambles to be used for initial access to a larger extent. The information about the reserved time interval is sent to the UE in the handover command message by means of a frame number offset between the source RBS and the target RBS. The UE uses the information to calculate when to send its synchronization message to the target RBS. The frame number offset is calculated either by source RBS or by target RBS.

  • Patent number: 8270976
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for use in a user equipment (10), and relates to a user equipment (10) for enabling a serving base station (40) to estimate interference contribution in a network when scheduling resources for the use equipment. According to the method, the user equipment determines an amount of resources required to send data and the user equipment sends a report to it serving base station when the required amount of resources is greater than a threshold value. In the report, measurements performed by the user equipment are included. The report will assist the serving base station with its estimation of the degree of interference user equipments generates in the network, and hence the power and resources to assign.

  • Publication number: 20110275381
Abstract: An Uplink control channel resource Management Module (120, 130), referred to as “UMM”, and a method in the UMM for assigning, to a radio network node 110, uplink control channel resources, referred to as “UCCHR”, for use in a uplink control channel between the radio network node (110) and a communication device (160) are provided. The UMM obtains (210) resource allocation information, referred to as “RAI”, and generates (220) a resource allocation command, referred to as “RAC”, based on the RAI. The RAC indicates UCCHR to be used by the radio network node. Furthermore, the UMM provides (230) the RAC to the radio network node (110). Related methods and nodes to enable the UMM to assign UCCHR are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20100273451
Abstract: In one aspect of the invention presented herein, a mobile terminal requests positioning assistance data from its supporting wireless communication network, in response to receiving a positioning request from a positioning node. Further, in response to receiving the positioning assistance data from the network, the mobile terminal sends the positioning assistance data to the positioning node. In this manner, the positioning node advantageously gains access to network-generated positioning assistance data without need for requesting it from the network. In at least one embodiment, the mobile terminal receives the positioning request from the positioning node over a User Plane (UP) connection. However, the mobile terminal sends the positioning assistance data request to the base station over a Control Plane (CP) connection, and receives the requested positioning assistance data via the CP. The terminal transfers that data to the UP and sends it to the positioning node.
