Patent number: 10458675Abstract: An air conduction part for conducting a compressible medium, which part has a cross section through which the medium passes in a flow direction of the medium when the air conduction part is used, which flow direction approximately corresponds to a longitudinal axis of the air conduction part, the air conduction part including at least one wall arrangement that laterally defines the cross section of the air conduction part and conducts the medium. The wall arrangement are provided with at least one shell and with at least one damping device that removes sound energy from the medium, and the shell and the damping device are integrally interconnected so that, with a justifiable amount of outlay, the resulting air conduction parts effectively damp sound and the transport direction of the medium and/or the cross section of the air conduction part may change.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2017Date of Patent: October 29, 2019Assignee: Airbus Operations GmbHInventors: Matthias Siercke, Joakim Holmgren, Markus Kerber, Sergej Naumann, Uwe Wurr, Volker Robrecht, Urs Pachale

Patent number: 9243735Abstract: A flow limiter comprises a line segment with an air inlet and an air outlet and at least one resistance element. The resistance element is positioned within the line segment and impresses a predetermined flow resistance on an air flow that extends from the air inlet to the air outlet. Preferably, the resistance element extends at least in part in an axial direction of the line segment. Such a flow limiter is used to adjust an air volume flow and comprises particularly low generation of intrinsic noise.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2011Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: Airbus Operations GmbHInventor: Joakim Holmgren

Patent number: 8393566Abstract: The invention relates to an air inlet for a vehicle comprising an opening with an opening contour in an outer skin of the vehicle; at least one bottom element; one or several walls between the opening contour and the bottom element; and an air guide channel with a longitudinal axis, wherein the bottom element extends from the outer skin of the vehicle to an interior region of the vehicle underneath a border edge of the opening, and the air guide channel adjoins from between the bottom element and the border edge, wherein at least one transition region between the opening contour and the walls at least in some regions comprises an essentially convex-shaped profile that essentially extends parallel to the air guide channel. The air inlet according to the invention is in a position to remove air from a flow boundary layer and to provide said air to air-consuming systems.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2009Date of Patent: March 12, 2013Assignee: Airbus Operations GmbHInventors: Matthias Siercke, Ulrich Heise, Joakim Holmgren, Adeline Gommet

Patent number: 8083027Abstract: A method for manufacturing a sandwich panel includes, but is not limited to the steps of providing at least one air-permeable core layer and at least one porous cover layer, applying an adhesive onto a first area of the core layer, pressing the cover layer onto the first area of the core layer to connect the cover layer to the core layer, and applying an airstream that from the outside is directed onto the cover layer and that moves through the cover layer and the core layer. By means of such an airstream it is possible to prevent excessive accumulation of adhesive on the cover layer, which otherwise would result in partial blocking of the cover layer. By varying the intensity of the airstream the flow resistance of the arrangement including, but not limited to, the cover layer and the core layer may be determined and set during the bonding process. In this way a sandwich panel with precise sound-absorption behavior can be manufactured.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2010Date of Patent: December 27, 2011Assignee: Airbus Operations GmbHInventor: Joakim Holmgren
