Patent number: 9206618Abstract: An edge protection system including spaced counterweights each having a connecting bracket on one side thereof. Cantilever arms each have vertical legs on opposite ends, with one leg pivotally secured to the counterweights and the other leg secured to hubs. The vertical legs may selectively support the cantilever arm at a height sufficient to allow workers to walk upright beneath the arm. Wedges connect ledger ends to connecting wheels on hub vertical posts, and secure a stiffener to the wheel and ledger sections. Counterweights have a U-shaped bracket and a plurality of weight blocks. The blocks are selectively stacked on the bracket with one upright leg extending through weight block center openings and the other upright leg in side slots of the blocks. A trolley has a carrying connector for connecting to a connector of the one upright leg on top of the counterweight for transporting the counterweight.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: December 8, 2015Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Joakim Svedberg, Patrick Holmbom, Roger Golaub

Patent number: 8398036Abstract: A post holder for holding a safety post on a horizontal structure of a building is provided. The post holder has an elongate post reception portion an elongate central support portion, protruding from the post reception portion and perpendicular to the post reception portion, and first and second elongate side support portions protruding from the post reception portion laterally of the central support portion and in opposite directions. The central support portion comprises a fastening seat, which is arranged to receive a fastening member for fastening of the post holder to a base. Each one of said support portions comprises a support protrusion, which constitutes a fraction of the support portion at a bottom side thereof and protrudes at a bottom side thereof, thereby forming a lower most support surface of the support portion. The lower most support surfaces of the support portions are triangularly positioned.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2008Date of Patent: March 19, 2013Assignee: Combisafe International ABInventor: Joakim Svedberg

Publication number: 20130001493Abstract: It is presented a safety barrier for securing a working surface comprising a screen section (201) and a post (206) arranged along a first vertical side (204) of the screen section. A first hinge element (202) is arranged at the screen section for pivotally engaging with a first external anchoring element, thereby allowing pivotal movement of the screen section (201) about a vertical pivot axis which extending along a first vertical side (204) of the screen section. The first hinge element (202) is arranged at a first end portion (310) of the post. A second hinge element (205) is arranged at the screen section (201) for pivotally engaging with an adjacent safety barrier or a second external anchoring element (700). A corresponding safety barrier system, and methods for mounting a safety barrier system on a floor are also presented.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2010Publication date: January 3, 2013Applicant: COMBISAFE INTERNATIONAL AKTIEBOLAGInventor: Joakim Svedberg

Patent number: 8246267Abstract: A safety post mountable in a post holder includes an elongate tubular member and a locking device arranged inside of the tubular member. The locking device includes a lever and a bias spring device biasing the lever against an inner surface of the wall of the tubular member. The lever has a lock protrusion and a release protrusion extending through a first and second aperture portions of the wall, respectively. The lock protrusion is retractable to a release position inside of an outer surface of the tubular member by operation of the release protrusion in a counter biasing direction. The release protrusion has a support surface arranged to support the safety post against a support surface of the post holder, and the release protrusion is related to the lock protrusion such that, in the release position, the release protrusion is still protruding from said outer surface to an extent.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2007Date of Patent: August 21, 2012Assignee: Combisafe International ABInventor: Joakim Svedberg

Publication number: 20120025056Abstract: This invention relates to a concrete embedment fixture for mounting of protective railing. The fixture has a tubular member (3), at least one concrete inlet opening (11, 13) at a bottom end of the tubular member, and a plurality of brace elements (5) attached to an outer periphery of the tubular member. Each brace element has a sloping portion, which extends from an upper end towards a lower end thereof in a downwardly and outwardly sloping direction, wherein projections of at least two of the brace elements in a transversal plane of the tubular member extend in mutually different directions. Further, each brace element comprises, at the lower end thereof, an anchoring and supporting portion (5c) arranged to rest on a base and anchor the fixture in concrete.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2009Publication date: February 2, 2012Inventors: Joakim SVEDBERG, Anders WIKMYR

Patent number: 7913982Abstract: The present invention relates to a temporary safety barrier system, which comprises a plurality of posts, a plurality of mesh panels, and a plurality of mesh panel holders. Each mesh panel holder is mountable on a respective post of said plurality of posts, and comprises a post coupler and first and second mesh panel supports, which are attached in common to the post coupler. The post coupler is movable along the post when mounted thereon, and has a locking member for releasably locking the post coupler in a holding position at the post. The second mesh panel support encircles the post in the mounted state. Each mesh panel support has a support hook for receiving a mesh wire of one or more mesh panels. The temporary safety system is arranged to enable inclination of a mesh panel during said height adjustment, thereby facilitating the height adjustment while the mesh panels remain mounted.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2006Date of Patent: March 29, 2011Assignee: Combisafe International ABInventor: Joakim Svedberg
