    Abstract: An additive suitable for use in a combustion fuel comprising:(a) a complex of an iron enolate having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are, individually, hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 22 carbon atoms or aryl in an amount effective to improve the combustion performance of the combustion fuel and, per part by weight of iron enolate;(b) 0.05 to 10 parts of a cerium enolate having the formula: ##STR2## wherein R, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are, individually, hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 22 carbon atoms or aryl; and(c) 5 to 150 parts of a solvent capable of rendering the iron enolate and the cerium enolate miscible with the combustion fuel.
