Abstract: A disclosed event notification management method and service for use with a multi-node, hyper-converged infrastructure (HCl) cluster employs a service running on a corresponding node to monitor one or more parameters associated with event notifications sent to a cluster. The service may adjust a node's notification interval based on the monitored parameters. The parameters may include a last event notification successful (LENS) parameter indicating whether a recent notification was successful and a severity parameter determined based on an urgency type of a plurality of pending notifications within an event queue. The service may employ a first formula to decrease the notification interval following a successful previous notification and a second formula to increase the notification interval following an unsuccessful notification. The magnitude by which the notification interval is adjusted may be influenced by the severity parameter, e.g.

Abstract: Disclosed methods provision a host with a pair of proxy resources. A first proxy resource may be configured to forward traffic from an in-band management interface of the host to a link-local interface of a BMC or the like. The second proxy resource is configured to forward traffic received via a link-local interface of the host to a management network interface of a cluster manager. Upon receiving an event subscription message from the cluster manager via the in-band management interface of the host, the event subscription message is forwarded by the first proxy to the link-local interface of the BMC to register a link-local interface of the host as a subscriber for one or more events. Responsive to receiving an event notification from the BMC via the link-local interface of the host, the event notification is automatically forwarded to the management network interface of the cluster manager.

Abstract: An information handling system may include a host system, a management controller configured to provide out-of-band management of the information handling system, and a network interface including a network interface processor. The information handling system may be configured to: transmit serial console data from the host system to the network interface; store the serial console data in onboard storage of the network interface; and execute, at the network interface processor, a management agent configured to provide access to the serial console data from a remote information handling system.

Abstract: A platform development system and method in which configuration information for an information handling resource type, e.g., a network interface card, is obtained by accessing a first instance of the resource type. The configuration information includes one or more fixed elements and a corresponding number of variable elements. Configuration information may include attribute-value pairs in which the attribute field of each pair is the fixed part of the configuration information and the corresponding value field is the variable part. A simulation policy, indicative of the fixed part of the configuration information, may then be defined for the resource type of interest. The simulation policy, in conjunction with user-specified values for the variable part of the configuration information, may define configuration information for a second instance of the resource type. A management server simulator may then simulate the second instance of the resource type based on the applicable configuration information.

Abstract: An information handling system may include at least one processor; and a non-transitory memory coupled to the at least one processor. The information handling system may be configured to: execute a plurality of virtual machines having workloads associated therewith; during selected times, apply a plurality of configuration settings relating to the at least one processor while executing the workloads of the plurality of virtual machines; track a plurality of performance metrics relating to the at least one processor during the selected times; and predictively determine a selected one of the plurality of configuration settings that is predicted to improve performance of the workloads.

The BIOS may be configured to set the passphrase of the persistent memory, encrypt the passphrase via a first key of a first asymmetric key pair, and transmit the encrypted passphrase to the management controller. The management controller may be configured to decrypt the encrypted passphrase via a second key of the first asymmetric key pair, re-encrypt the passphrase via a first key of a second asymmetric key pair, and transmit the re-encrypted passphrase to an external management console via an out-of-band management interface.
