  • Patent number: 9623106
Abstract: Provided are immunogenic and vaccine compositions and methods for their preparation and use, which compositions are effective in protecting against, minimizing the severity of, preventing, and/or ameliorating infection of ruminants with Bluetongue virus. Administration to an animal of at least one dose of an adjuvanted and twice inactivated Bluetongue virus composition as disclosed herein is effective in providing immunity to the animal and protection from infection with Bluetongue virus, thereby reducing the severity of and/or preventing disease caused by one or more strains or serotypes of Bluetongue virus.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 11, 2015
Date of Patent: April 18, 2017

  • Publication number: 20120114683
Abstract: The present invention relates to nucleic acids comprising: (a) sequences of a replication competent transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), which sequences encode a TGEV replicase under the control of expression regulatory sequences, wherein the replicase is expressed in a host cell and will initiate replication of the nucleic acid and thus increase the number of nucleic acids in the cell; and (b) a sequence encoding at least one neutralizing epitope of ORF5 of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), which sequence includes a disulfide bridge forming residue; and (c) a sequence encoding at least one further polypeptide capable of increasing an immune response against PRRSV. The present invention further relates to vectors, virus particles and host cells comprising these nucleic acids as well as their use for the preparation of vaccines, specifically for the preparation of vaccines.

  • Publication number: 20080226676
Abstract: The present invention provides vaccine compositions comprising at least two strains of avian influenza virus, wherein one of the strains has an H5 hemagglutinin subtype and the other strain has an H7 hemagglutinin subtype, and wherein at least one of the strains has an N4 neuraminidase subtype and neither strain has an N1 subtype. Also provided are vaccination methods that utilize the novel vaccine compositions of the invention. The compositions and methods of the present invention provide protection against infection with H5 and H7 influenza strains (e.g., H5N1 and H7N1) while at the same time facilitating the distinction between infected and vaccinated animals.
