  • Patent number: 9005724
Abstract: A composition includes a mixture of a first polymer and a second polymer. The first polymer is selected from the group consisting of a polymer including ethylene residues and vinyl alcohol residues and a polymer including vinyl alcohol residues. The second polymer includes ethylene residues, vinyl acetate residues and maleic anhydride residues. An amount of the first polymer in the mixture is about 50% to about 95% by weight. An ink-printable composition includes the above composition as an ink-receiving material.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 14, 2015
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
Inventors: Bor-Jiunn Niu, Haigang Chen, Lisa A. Underwood, Joanna G Pool
  • Patent number: 8993078
Abstract: A composition includes a mixture including a first polymer and a second polymer. The first polymer includes methyl acrylate or ethyl acrylate residues in an amount of about 15% to about 25% by weight of the first polymer, maleic anhydride residues in an amount of about 2% to about 3.5% by weight of the first polymer, and ethylene residues. The second polymer includes butyl acrylate residues in an amount of about 5% to about 10% by weight of the second polymer, maleic anhydride residues in an amount of about 3% to about 4% by weight of the second polymer, and ethylene residues. An amount of the first polymer in the mixture is about 60% to about 90% by weight. The mixture may further include a pigment-LDPE composition wherein the amount of the first polymer in the mixture is about 50% to about 70% by weight.
