The bedpost interface may be a pin that mates with a vertical hole located in many dormitory room bedposts, with an optional bracket to prevent the shelf from rotating about the axis of the pin. Alternatively, the bedpost interface may be a sleeve that fits snugly over the top of the bedpost.
