  • Patent number: 10143100
Abstract: A modular networking device connection system includes a modular networking system chassis that defines a modular networking device slot. An internal wall is located in immediately adjacent the modular networking device slot, and includes a internal wall connector that connects to a modular networking device positioned in the modular networking device slot. A networking processing device is located opposite the internal wall, and includes a networking processor that is mounted to a networking processing device board and coupled via at least one trace to a networking processing device connector that is mounted to the networking processing device board. The networking processing device connector is directly connected to the internal wall connector by a first cable that transmits signals received through the internal wall connector directly to the networking processing device connector for provision to the networking processor via the networking processing device board.

  • Patent number: 10076719
Abstract: An information handling system (IHS) includes a node having a node enclosure provisioned with at least one heat-generating component. A device that provides infrastructure support to the node contains an air mover is attached to the node enclosure. The air mover creates cooling air flow through the node to absorb and transfer thermal energy from the at least one heat-generating component. An air filter enclosure is attachable over an air intake of the device. The air filter enclosure has a top slot sized to receive a manually inserted air filter into an air filter receiving frame. Replacement of the air filter can be achieved without tools. The air filter filters the air prior to the air entering the node enclosure to remove impurities and possible particulates that can damage the internal components of the device.

  • Patent number: 6249437
Abstract: The present invention provides for a heat sink that, in a particularly advantageous embodiment, includes a heat sink body with a spine configured to be oriented parallel with the direction of air flow when the heat sink is coupled to a substrate. The heat sink further includes a first set of cooling fins that are coupled to and extend from the spine along a first common longitudinal axis. At least two of the first set of cooling fins laterally extend from the first common longitudinal axis in a common direction and in an offset relationship to each other.
