  • Patent number: 9492177
Abstract: The present invention is a tourniquet comprising: a strap; a pelvic pad included in the strap having a pocket defined in the pelvic pad for receiving a semi-rigid stiffening member; base plates slidably attached to the strap allowing the base plates to be positioned along the strap; a threaded shaft received in each of the base plates; a pressure pad removable attached to a distal end of each of the shafts; a handle attached to a proximal end of each of the shafts having openings defined in each end of the handle; and, a rotational arresting strap attached to each base plate having a securing tab that can be received in one of the handle openings thereby preventing the shaft from rotating when the securing tab is received in sand handle opening.

  • Patent number: 8290814
Abstract: A self-checkout system, particularly for retail areas of constrained floor space, has a small to zero footprint while being fully functional. In one form, the self-checkout comprises a unit mountable to a wall, pillar, or other support. In another form, the self-checkout has or is part of a columnar support. The self-checkout system has security in the form of video and weight verification. A visual and/or audio indicator provides indicia of modes of use of the self-checkout. The self-checkout further includes an interactive customer interface terminal, a scanner, and a scale. The self-checkout provides an open visual area that allows easy viewing by store personnel of transactions being performed on the self-checkout system.

  • Publication number: 20070161010
Abstract: In one aspect, a method for DNA mutation detection including the steps of PCR amplification using preferably Pho DNA polymerase, hybridization, and analysis by denaturing high performance liquid chromatography (DHPLC), the method preferably utilizing a PCR buffer and other solutions that are compatible with DHPLC analysis. In other aspects, compositions and kits including a proofreading DNA polymerase, preferably Pho DNA polymerase, and a DHPLC compatible PCR buffer are provided.
