  • Patent number: 5714834
Abstract: A cathode ray tube is provided with a deflection unit. The yoke is secured to a flange of a coil holder by means of connecting elements. These connecting elements are flexible in the radial direction so that differences in thermal expansion between the yoke and the rest of the deflection unit are compensated in a flexible manner. By virtue thereof, movement of the yoke relative to the coils, which leads to an irreversible change of the deflection fields, is precluded or is at least less likely.

  • Patent number: 5436782
Abstract: A magnetic-tape cassette includes a reel locking device having tow levers each having one tooth. The levers further comprise actuating members which can be pushed away by a release pin provided on a drive spindle of an apparatus, so that the levers are movable between a locking position, in which the teeth are in engagement with a toothed surface provided in the magnetic-tape cassette, and a released position, in which the teeth are not in engagement with the toothed surface. The teeth are then movable in a direction substantially parallel to the main walls of the magnetic-tape cassette.

  • Patent number: 5350916
Abstract: Optoelectronic devices in which optoelectronic components comprising a diode laser are fastened on a carrier plate having good heat conduction, and in which the carrier plate is provided with connection conductors for the components which are separated from the carrier plate by an electrically insulating medium, are used inter alia in equipment for optical reading and/or writing of information carriers such as CD (audio) or CDROM. The known device is comparatively expensive, especially because of the necessity of using a special connector when a flexible connection is desired. According to the invention, the electrically insulating medium comprises a strip-shaped flexible foil which carries conductor tracks, extends over and beyond the carrier plate, is fastened on the carrier plate, and has a void above the carrier plate in which the diode laser is present.

  • Patent number: 4607307
Abstract: In a tape cassette having two flanged tape reels or spools arranged for rotation about parallel axes, when the cassette is removed from a tape recorder a brake device prevents rotation of the spools in a direction which will unwind the tape, and also tensions the tape. To facilitate assembly of the cassette, ratchet teeth are provided on both flanges of each spool, with the teeth on one flange oriented in a direction opposite to the teeth on the other flange. The spools are identical and can be interchanged, and each spool can be placed in the housing with either of its flanges uppermost. The brake device is symmetrical about an axis of symmetry, and has one pawl arranged to engage teeth on one spool upper flange, and the other pawl arranged to engage the other spool lower flange.

  • Patent number: 4545550
Abstract: In a magnetic-tape cassette having adjacent flanged reels mounted for rotation in a housing, coupling members connect the reels to the winding mandrels on a cassette apparatus. Each member has an axial portion extending through the housing for engagement by a spring which presses the reel against an apparatus reel disc, and radially resilient limbs extending in the opposite direction for engaging the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4541024
Abstract: A magnetic-tape cassette for use with a magnetic-tape cassette apparatus of the kind comprising tape-extraction means for drawing a loop of tape from the cassette housing for cooperation with the magnetic heads of the apparatus. The cassette housing, containing two side-by-side reel hubs (16 and 17), has two apertures (7 and 8) in the front through which the tape (18) enters and leaves the housing. The apertures are bounded on one side by two tape supports (19 and 20) which support a portion of the tape that extends across the front of the housing between the aperture, and on the opposite side by the front ends of the side walls (4 and 5) of the housing. The geometry of various parts of the cassette is such that when the cassette has been placed on the apparatus and in the tape has been drawn from the cassette housing, the tape extends directly between the reel hubs and the exterior of the housing without the sides of the tape being in contact with any guide means or other parts inside the housing.

  • Patent number: 4524927
Abstract: In a magnetic-tape cassette with a front aperture or recess at least one front cover is provided which can pivot under spring force from an open position to a closed position about a pivot which is perpendicular to the side walls of the housing of the cassette, which cover is latched in the closed position by means of at least one latching lever disposed near a side wall. The latching lever, which comprises two arms arranged in the form of an L can pivot into a latching position about a pivot which is arranged on said side wall parallel to the pivot of the front cover. The longer arm of the lever is elastically deflexible over at least a part of its length and at one end comprises a latching portion which during the pivotal movement of the lever is guided by guide means disposed near the latching portion. The shorter arm is connected at one end to the pivot of the latching lever.

  • Patent number: 4512470
Abstract: A storage case for a magnetic-tape cassette with a front opening which is covered at the front by a cover pivotally connected to the cassette housing. The case includes at least one positioning element which extends into the front opening of the cassette and is arranged on a bottom surface of a base section near the case rear wall, for positioning the cassette. The distance at the case base between the front side of the positioning element, remote from the rear wall, to the inner side of the rear wall is greater than the distance from the wall portion of the cassette housing adjoining the positioning element to the front side of the cassette front cover. Movement of the cassette inside the case towards the rear wall is thus limited by abutment of the cassette wall portion with the positioning element, so that the front cover remains clear of the case rear wall.

  • Patent number: 4496119
Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette having adjacent flanged reels mounted for rotation between major walls of a housing. A brake spring has intermediate portions arranged between respective projections on a major wall and the rear wall. A slide member movable on a ridge between the reels engages the spring between its center and each intermediate portion, to move the spring end portions away from or toward the flanges.
