  • Patent number: 7674940
Abstract: A process for the preparation of detergents containing a relatively low amount of isoparaffins, involving separating a hydrocarbonaceous product stream from a Fischer-Tropsch process using a cobalt based catalyst and producing normally liquid and normally solid hydrocarbons into a light fraction boiling below an intermediate fraction having detergent hydrocarbons, an intermediate boiling fraction having detergent hydrocarbons and a heavy fraction boiling above the intermediate boiling fraction having detergent hydrocarbons, followed by conversion of the detergent hydrocarbons present in the intermediate boiling fraction into detergents, the Fischer-Tropsch process being carried out at a relatively high pressure.

  • Publication number: 20090301131
Abstract: A method of treating a hydrocarbon stream such as natural gas from a feed stream (10) comprising at least the steps of: a) passing the feed stream (10) through a distillation column (12) to provide a gaseous stream (20) and a C2+ liquid stream (30); b) compressing at least part of the gaseous stream (20) through one or more feed compressors (14, 16) to provide a compressed stream (40); and c) commonly driving (28) at least one of the feed compressors with one or more separate refrigerant compressors for one or more separate refrigerant circuits, by mechanically interconnecting said compressors.

  • Publication number: 20090095018
Abstract: A hydrocarbon stream is liquefied in a method wherein a feed stream is provided, from which feed stream a first stream and a second stream are produced. The first stream is liquefied in a main liquefaction system to provide a first liquefied stream, while the second stream is cooled separately to provide a cooled second stream. The first liquefied stream is combined with the cooled second stream to produce a combined stream, which is separated in a gas/liquid separator into a liquefied hydrocarbon product stream and a gaseous stream. The gaseous stream is warmed to a temperature of above ?40° C. by heat exchanging against any other stream used in the method, wherein the warming of the gaseous stream employs at least heat exchanging against the second stream to provide at least part of the cooling of the second stream.

  • Patent number: 7282474
Abstract: A process for the preparation of detergents involving separating the hydrocarbonaceous product stream from a Fischer-Tropsch process producing normally liquid and normally solid hydrocarbons into a light fraction and one or more heavy fractions, hydrogenating at least part of the light fraction to convert unsaturated hydrocarbons and/or oxygenates into saturated hydrocarbons, distilling product thus obtained into at least one fraction comprising detergent hydrocarbons, dehydrogenating at least part of the detergent hydrocarbons to obtain a detergent hydrocarbon stream having mono-olefins and converting the mono-olefins into detergents. The invention further concerns a process for the preparation of detergents in which process a hydrogenated product, which is obtained according to the above process, is dehydrogenated to obtain a detergent hydrocarbon stream of mono-olefins, followed by conversion of the mono-olefins into detergents.
