  • Patent number: 4812013
Abstract: The process utilizes the fact that fluorescent optical fibres can be laterally excited by light radiation by supplying concentrated light signals to their ends. The invention proposes applying this process to producing indicating, control, logic function measurement and similar apparatus, as well as for producing solar collectors for the direct generation of electricity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 22, 1987
Date of Patent: March 14, 1989
Inventors: Claude Aurouet, Henry Blumenfeld, Michel Bourdinaud, Jean Calvet, Jean-Claude Cavan, Joao Meyer, Jean-Claude Thevenin

  • Patent number: 4608155
Abstract: Magnetic separator in which the particles forming the mixture to be separated drop from an opening into a separating space, where they are exposed to the action of a magnetic field having a gradient in the horizontal plane and produced outside the separating space. The magnetic field is of the multipole type having a high dipole component in a direction in a horizontal plane in the separating space, in order to apply a high magnetic force to the magnetized particle, in order to increase the separation as a function of their magnetic susceptibility. The magnetic separator according to the invention can more particularly be used for the separation or cleaning of particles having different magnetic properties.
