  • Patent number: 11913753
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a brace for attachment to a launch rail for a projectile for distributing loading of the projectile when supported by the launch rail. A height of the brace can be adjusted to distribute loading. In embodiments, a release mechanism can allow movement of a wear plate during launch of the projectile.

  • Publication number: 20100039770
Abstract: An electronic subsystem such as an array of radar transmit/receive microwave modules are associated with (e.g., base mounted to) spaced heat sinks. There is an electronic module on each side of each heat sink and an inflatable bladder or “pneumatic pressure wedge” between adjacent heat sinks biases a pair of electronic modules against their respective heat sinks.

  • Patent number: 6704168
Abstract: An actuator latching mechanism for a disk drive device is provided. The latching mechanism includes a rotatable body portion, a rigid air vane portion and a latching arm. When a data storage disk of the disk drive is not being rotated, the latching mechanism maintains a transducer actuator assembly of the disk drive in a locked position by engaging the transducer actuator assembly in the latching arm. When the data storage disk is rotated, airflow is generated proximate to the surface of the disk, in the same direction in which the disk is rotated. The latching mechanism is disposed in a space between the edge of the data storage disk and a side wall of the housing so that the peripheral effects of the airflow exerts a force on the air vane portion, rotating the latching mechanism towards the side wall to release the actuator assembly from the latching arm. Once disk rotation stops, the air vane portion returns to its original position and the latching arm engages the actuator assembly in the locked position.

  • Patent number: 6637561
Abstract: A suspension system for a vehicle includes a dynamic absorber mass having a mass smaller than the sprung mass of the vehicle and a spring system supporting the dynamic absorber mass for out-of-phase coaxial motion with the vehicle and tuned to the ride frequency of the vehicle for damping ride frequency perturbations from the vehicle.
