Abstract: A shaving apparatus has a circular shear plate provided with hair-entrance apertures and a cutting unit associated with and rotatable relative to the shear plate about an axis of rotation. The cutting unit comprises a cutting member having a circular central body, cutter arms extending from the periphery of the central body toward the shear plate, and a cutter formed at the end of each cutter arm, a part of each cutter arm extending in a substantially axial direction. A hair-pulling member has a circular central portion, hair-pulling-blade arms extending from the periphery of the central portion toward the shear plate, and a hair-pulling blade formed at the end of each hair-pulling-blade arm, each hair-pulling blade being associated with and movable relative to a cutter, a part of each hair-pulling-blade arm extending in a substantially axial direction.

Abstract: There is provided a shaving apparatus comprising a shear plate with hair-entry apertures; and a cutting unit associated with and reciprocatory relative to the shear plate, the cutting unit including a frame. Cutters extend from the frame toward the shear plate, each cutter having a trapezoidal cross section and being in contact along its base with the shear plate. Two hair-pulling blades are respectively associated with and movable relative to the opposite sloping sides of each cutter, each hair-pulling blade normally being in contact with the shear plate. A pair of resilient elements respectively connects the opposite ends of each hair-pulling blade to the frame.

The central body and the central portion each have a central opening, through both of which means formed on the cover plate extends for engaging the cutting member to secure the hair-pulling member between the cutting member and the cover plate.

The arrangement is such that each lead cutter is always maintained spaced from its associated cutter throughout their respective lengths regardless of their relative position.

Abstract: A shaving apparatus includes a cutting member substantially constituted by a central body provided at its circumference with cutters connected to the central body by means of connecting arms. For reasons of manufacturing technology and cost the material thickness is desirable minimized. However, limiting factors in this respect are the strength and the rigidity of the cutting member. In the instant construction the strength and the rigidity of the cutting member are increased by having the connecting arms secured to a bent reinforcement rim at the periphery of the central body.
