  • Patent number: 8463559
Abstract: Method for operating a measuring point having a base unit and a sensor unit, wherein the latter couples via a pluggable connector coupling with the base unit; the base unit serves for energy supply of the sensor unit, for data exchange with the sensor unit and for communication with a process monitoring installation, wherein the base unit includes: A first element of the pluggable connector coupling; a first microprocessor sensor data conditioning for communication with the process monitoring installation; a first data memory for saving measuring-point-specific data; wherein the sensor unit has a primary sensor and a sensor head; the primary sensor includes a transducer, which outputs a measured variable dependent signal; wherein the sensor head includes: A circuit for conditioning the transducer signals with an A/D converter and a second microprocessor for measurement signal processing, a second data memory for sensor data; a program memory which contains a firmware; and an interface with a second element of

  • Patent number: 7990269
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for configuring a safety sensor such as a light barrier, with parameters which can be set on an application-specific basis, wherein an operator control unit equipped with input means is provided, which operator control unit is connected to the safety sensor under automatic interface and sensor identification, and the parameters on an application-specific basis are set using the input means, wherein a feedback message of the set parameters is simultaneously and automatically displayed in a visualized manner on a display unit (10) of the operator control unit. The present invention further relates to a corresponding operator control unit and to a method for monitoring a safety sensor with parameters which can be set on an application-specific basis.

  • Patent number: 6927385
Abstract: An optical sensor includes a light transmitter for transmitting pulsed light signals and a light receiver for receiving them. In order to suppress the effects of interfering noise light, the light signals are transmitted according to a specified pattern including pulses in packages separated from each other by a specified interval, the pulses within each of the packages following one another with a specified carrier frequency. Groups each including two or more such pulse packages may be employed. The light receiver converts a received light signal into an electrical signal and directly thereafter passes the electrical signal through a bandpass filter with a pass band including this carrier frequency.
