  • Publication number: 20240040075
Abstract: In various embodiments, a device receives a first video stream of a video conference. The device receives a second video stream of the video conference. The second video stream includes an indicated location for video of the second video stream relative to video of the first video stream. The device merges the first video stream and the second video stream into an overlapped video having the video of the second video stream located at the indicated location relative to the video of the first video stream. The device provides the overlapped video for display.

  • Patent number: 10440322
Abstract: A system that automatically configures the behavior of the display devices of a video conference endpoint. The controller may detect, at a microphone array having a predetermined physical relationship with respect to a camera, audio emitted from one or more loudspeakers, each loudspeaker having a predetermined physical relationship with respect to at least one of one or more display devices in a conference room. The controller may then generate data representing a spatial relationship between the one or more display devices and the camera based on the detected audio. Finally, the controller may assign video sources received by the endpoint to each of the one or more display devices based on the data representing the spatial relationship and the content of each received video source, and may also assign outputs from multiple video cameras to an outgoing video stream based on the on the data representing the spatial relationship.

  • Patent number: 10027926
Abstract: In one embodiment, upon detection of a mobile device within a proximity of a video conference endpoint and authentication of the mobile device at a server managing the video conference endpoint, the server may receive information regarding a camera of the mobile device. The server may then receive the output of the camera from the mobile device. Finally, after receiving the output of the camera, the server may send the output of the camera to the video conference endpoint as part of media to be presented by the video conference endpoint. The server may also send the output of the camera to one or more other endpoints participating in a video conference managed by the server.

  • Patent number: 9800931
Abstract: Adaptively adjusting the layout of a video conference includes receiving, at a first video conference endpoint, a video stream from a second video conference endpoint. Activity in an environment of the first video conference endpoint or an environment of the second video conference endpoint is detected with at least one physical activity sensor. Based on the detected activity, a presentation of the video stream at the first video conference endpoint is dynamically adjusted.

  • Patent number: 8259624
Abstract: A method and apparatus for conferencing dynamically determines composite image layout based on properties of received conferencing signals that include video signals and control signals. Video signals received from connected sites are processed to provide a composite video signal according to the defined composite image layout and the composite video signal is transmitted to the connected sites. Upon a change in properties of one or more received video signals, the composite image layout may be redefined. The received video signals are processed according to the redefined composite image layout to provide a second composite video signal that is transmitted to the connected sites.

  • Publication number: 20120001999
Abstract: A videoconferencing terminal and method use a display and camera that are adaptable depending on the mode of operation: videoconference mode, or document camera mode. The camera is pivotally mounted on the display, and is pivotally positionable within different pivot ranges according to the pivot angle with respect to a surface on which the display is positioned. When the camera is rotated beyond a predetermined non-zero angle relative to a vertical plane, the mode of operation automatically switches to a document pick-up mode of operation. In the document pick-up mode, the image of the document is flipped so as to be viewed by users at both endpoints of a videoconference call. Also, the camera is set to maximum zoom and focus adjusted to a predetermined distance so as to make for a clean image capture of the document. Also, the camera provides for keystone correction due to the lens not being co-planer with the document.

  • Patent number: 7257746
Abstract: In a transmission network utilizing link fault protection between nodes, a working and a standby transmission line are terminated at each node with termination boards. The termination boards are adapted to report faults to a link supervision block. The link supervision block is adapted to switch between transmission lines in case of a fault. One or more persistency timers are coupled between the termination boards and the supervision block. A predetermined persistency period is applied to received fault cause(s) from the termination boards and correlated. The persistence of the correlation result is also timed and traffic is switched from one of the transmission lines to the other according to a predetermined correlation result persistency timer period.
