Patent number: 8006593Abstract: A tool revolver, in particular for a machine tool, includes a tool disk (1) rotatable about a revolver axis and provided with a plurality of tool stations distributed along the disk circumference and movable to an operation position by the disk (1) rotation. At least one part of the tool stations (13) has a reception area (25) for receiving a tool holder (3). A fixing device is used for fixing a corresponding tool holder (3) at a defined position in the reception area (25). The interaction between an elastic adjusting body (31) protruding perpendicularly to the reception area (25) and used in the form of an orientation element for positioning and adjusting surfaces (41, 43) deepened into a base surface (7) of the tool holder (3) enables the tool holder to take an adjustment position when a screw fitting is fastened.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2006Date of Patent: August 30, 2011Assignee: Sauter Feinmechanik GmbHInventors: Detlef Sahm, Kurt Birk, Jochen Dieringer, Ralf Kiessig

Patent number: 7971328Abstract: A sealing arrangement (41) sealing the inside (15) of the tool disk (3) in relation to the outer side on the respective tool station is provided on each drive part (25) in a tool revolver. The tool driver a base body (1) applied or to be applied to the tool machine and defining a revolver axis (7) about which a tool disk (3) is rotationally mounted on the base body (1). The tool disk has a plurality of tool stations (17) distributed on its periphery and adjustable by rotating to tool disk (3) in respectively at least one working position. A tool drive (19) located in the inside of the tool disk (3) and applied to the base body (1) is coupled to the drive-sided coupling part (23). The coupling part includes a tool-sided coupling part for the drive of a tool located on the tool station (17) oriented towards the work station.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2006Date of Patent: July 5, 2011Assignee: Sauter Feinmechanik GmbHInventors: Detlef Sahm, Dietmar Linder, Jochen Dieringer

Patent number: 6722005Abstract: A turret includes a housing connected to a machine tool, a rotatably mounted toolholder for mounting of machining tools, and an electric drive for rotating the toolholder into a particular working station for the machining tools. The electric drive has a rotor and a stator with coil windings. The rotor of the electric drive is connected to the toolholder. The stator is connected to elements of the housing. The rotary movement for the toolholder is generated without gearing and directly by the electric drive of the rotor enclosing the stator. Since both the rotor and the stator are enclosed by the toolholder and since the rotor is in direct contact with the toolholder on the side of the external circumference and rigidly connected to the toolholder for transmission of torque, the rotor-stator layout creates an external rotor for the electric drive. In that layout, the rotor rotates externally, with the tool holder and the stator being mounted internally of the housing.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2002Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: Sauter Feinmechanik GmbHInventors: Reiner Sauter, Alfred E. Patent number: 6615466Abstract: The invention relates to a tool head with a spindle bearing arrangement The bearings (9, 10) of said arrangement rest with one of their bearing shells on a driven spindle (2) with a tool holding fixture (1). With their other bearing shell they interact with a housing (8) in such a manner that in at least one part (10) of the bearings (9, 10) the respective other bearing shell interacts with a sliding piece (11) which is slideable along the housing (8) in the one sliding direction and which locks the spindle (2) with the housing (8) in a locking position. In the other sliding direction, said sliding piece releases the spindle in a release position. The invention provides a universally useful tool head by the following configuration: The respective other bearing shell of the one part (10) of the bearings (9, 10) is at least partially enclosed by the sliding piece (11). Said sliding piece (11) is forced into the locking position with a predetermined contact force by a drive device.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2001Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Sauter Feinmechanik GmbHInventors: Detlef Dieter Sahm, Jochen Dieringer, Michael Eberle
