    Abstract: A method and device for extracting at least one plate from, and/or inserting one plate into, a stack of plates from below. At least two rests are provided for supporting the stack of plates. The rests are moved horizontally out of and/or into the range of the stack of plates. For each extraction and/or insertion process, the stack of plates is rotated through a prescribed angle of rotation, with such rotational movement being combined with the horizontal movement of the rests.
