  • Patent number: 11109938
Abstract: Multi-fiber laser probes utilize relative motion of fibers and other laser probe elements to preserve small-gauge compatibility while providing for multi-spot beam deliver, or to provide for the selectively delivery of single-spot or multi-spot beam patterns. An example probe includes fibers having distal ends that are movable as a group onto a distal ramp element affixed to a distal end of a cannula, so that the distal ends of the fibers can be moved between a retracted position, in which the distal ends of the fibers are within the cannula or ramp element, and an extended position, in which distal ends of the fibers are guided by grooves or channels of the ramp so as to extend at least partially through external openings in the distal end of the laser probe and so as to be pointed angularly away from a longitudinal axis of the cannula.

  • Patent number: 10327632
Abstract: An optical coherence tomography (OCT) system includes a light source configured to generate an OCT beam and a beam splitter, configured to split the OCT beam into a reference beam and an imaging beam, direct the reference beam toward a reflector, and direct the imaging beam toward a scanner. The system includes a linear actuator, such as a piezoelectric or voice coil, configured to move the reflector to adjust the length of the reference beam and the scanner, configured to scan the imaging beam onto a target surface at a plurality of scan angles, wherein the scanner and target surface are separated by a sample distance that varies at each of the scan angles.

  • Publication number: 20070030483
Abstract: A compact conical diffraction Littrow spectrometer is disclosed. The distortion of the conically diffracted spectral component beams is compensated and as a result, the diffracted spectral beams can still be focused into a substantially straight line to shine onto a detector array. A spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) system incorporating a Littrow spectrometer or a spectrometer having one or more shared focusing element(s) and an SD-OCT system incorporating a spectrometer that is substantially polarization independent are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060164639
Abstract: A spectral-domain optical coherence tomography system using a cross-dispersed spectrometer is disclosed. The interfered optical signal is dispersed by a grating into several orders of diffraction, and these orders of diffraction are separated by an additional dispersive optical element. The spectral interferogram is recorded by a set of linear detector arrays, or by a two-dimensional detector array.
