  • Patent number: 9565632
Abstract: A method that includes operating a base station at a first operational mode thereby preventing the base station from a periodically transmitting a beacon; detecting, by the base station, a transmission from a first wireless communication device; determining, by the base station and in response to the transmission from the first wireless communication device, whether to continue operating in the no emission mode or to enter a emission mode during which the base station is allowed to transmit the beacon; and entering the second operational mode, if it is determined to enter the second operational mode, and sending the beacon to the first wireless communication device.

  • Patent number: 9338780
Abstract: An ultra low energy (ULE) digital enhanced cordless telecommunication (DECT) base station that includes a scheduler that is arranged to dynamically determine a schedule of transmissions of broadcast messages and of paging messages to be received by DECT ULE devices; a dummy bearer generator arranged to generate dummy bearers in response to the schedule; wherein each dummy bearer comprises a multiple usage field and a usage indicative field; wherein the usage indicative field is indicative of a selected usage of the multiple usage field; wherein the selected usage purpose is selected out of at least a conveyance of a broadcast message and a conveyance of a paging message; a configuration module that is arranged to generate location information indicative of a location of at least one bit allocated within at least one dummy bearer for indicating, when flagged, of a presence of a paging message or a broadcast message aimed to at least one of the DECT ULE devices; and a transmitter that is arranged to transmit to

  • Patent number: 9129502
Abstract: A method and range monitoring system for verifying that communication between two communicating units is of satisfactory quality and that the units are within a predetermined range from one another, wherein the units are in non-continuous communication. One or both units test that the quality and distance by sending a signal to the other unit, and expecting a response signal. If no response signal is received, an alert is fired. The check is initiated upon a trigger, such as a timer, a sensed motion, or a user-initiated event such as when the user presses a button.

  • Patent number: 9088897
Abstract: An apparatus for enabling operation of a LDC network within a DECT system having a modified protocol, comprising an A-field with an identity of a FP shared by both the DECT system and the LDC network, B-fields with unique sync patterns for the DECT system and the LDC network, respectively; and separate dummy bearers for transmission by the FP for the DECT system and the LDC network, respectively, and a method for using the same.

  • Publication number: 20110230209
Abstract: A mobile device and method for automatically activating an application, based on the location of the mobile device. A user of the mobile device associates a location with an application or a profile to be activated at the particular location. The location can be either absolute, or relative to a second device such as a charger or a docking station. When the mobile device is connected to or in proximity to the absolute location or the second device, the current status or profile of the mobile device is stored, and the indicated application is activated. When the mobile device leaves the destination location, the application or profile stops, and the mobile device resumes its previous profile, or a default profile.
