Publication number: 20230031369Abstract: The present invention relates generally to methods of treatment of Alzheimer's Disease or Mild Cognitive Impairment which are adapted to avoid negative interactions between combinations of therapeutics. In particular there are disclosed such methods of treatment in which the order of therapeutics is actively controlled to mitigate homeostatic downregulation prior to administration of active, for example disease modifying, therapeutic agents. In certain embodiments therapy with symptomatic treatments (such as modifiers of the activity of acetylcholine or glutamate neurotransmitters) may subsequently be combined with the disease modifying or other active treatment. The invention also applies the findings in relation to homeostatic downregulation to novel methods of clinical trial design.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2020Publication date: February 2, 2023Applicant: WisTa Laboratories Ltd.Inventors: Gernot Riedel, Valeria Melis, Charles Robert Harrington, Jochen Klein, Grazyna Niewiadomska, Marta Steczkowska, Karima Schwab, Claude Michel Wischil

Patent number: 8151952Abstract: The invention relates to a proportional control valve for the variable hydraulic adjustment of the damping force of a shock absorber, for which purpose the proportional control valve has a throttle function which can be set by varying the strength I of the electric current. The invention provides that on the basis of an instantaneous level of the electrical current Iist the proportional control valve is first closed by increasing the current to a maximum current strength Imax for a short time period toverdrive in order to change the damping force F, and the proportional control valve is then opened again by reducing the current strength I to a defined average current strength I in which the proportional valve assumes an intermediate position which results in a volume flow Q which corresponds to the desired change in the damping force F.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2007Date of Patent: April 10, 2012Assignee: Continental Teves AG & Co. oHGInventors: Axel Nieder-Vahrenholz, Christian Courth, Fabian Wey, Jochen Klein, Jan Hoffmann, Harald Biller, Marcus Forche, René Lenz

Patent number: 7673927Abstract: In a motor vehicle having a tail gate (10) affixed to a lateral, rear pillar of the vehicle structure by means of at least one hinge so as to be pivotable about a substantially vertical axis (A-A), a hinge part that swings out together with the tail gate is located in an area of a lateral tail light (18) of the vehicle when the tail gate (10) is closed.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2006Date of Patent: March 9, 2010Assignee: Wilhelm Karmann GmbHInventors: Franz-Ulrich Brockhoff, Winfried Bunsmann, Jochen Klein, Wolfgang Nentwig, Markus Grave

Patent number: 6901408Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for electronic management of data, which can be represented in a directed graph according to an entity relationship model. Any entity relationship model compliant data pool, and particular a (web) catalog is structured by grouping catalog pages (nodes) into groups (node types) with similar properties like attributes and relationships. Catalog nodes are identified by the node type name and a node instance name that is unique for a given node type. The node type definition is advantageously enabled to be business-driven. A prior art entity relationship diagram describes the structure of the catalog by defining the node types, the node attributes and the possible relationships, and optionally access control information. The catalog structure is stored in the database in a separate set of structure tables.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2002Date of Patent: May 31, 2005Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Andre Louis Fachat, Jochen Klein
