  • Patent number: 9381556
Abstract: A roller for a rolling mill with a casing, a left half pivot, and a right half pivot. The half pivots in the region surrounded by the casing are constructed as a truncated cone and form a left surface on the left half pivot and a right surface on the right half pivot. The left half pivot and the right half pivot have boreholes and corresponding grooves formed on the surfaces. The half pivots are inserted in the casing and are braced with one another by at least one tie rod. An hydraulic oil in boreholes and grooves is passed into or onto the left half pivot and the right half pivot. The hydraulic oil exerts a pressure on the casing to expand the casing. With the casing expanded, the stop surfaces and the face surfaces of the casing are pressed onto one another by the tie rod.

  • Publication number: 20100101243
Abstract: The invention relates to a cooling device (100) for cooling a metal strip (200) after a forming in a cold rolling stand (200) having at least one nozzle (112) for spraying a cooling medium (400) onto the surface of the metal strip (200). In order to make such known cooling device more effective and efficient, it is proposed according to the invention to provide a plate (500), which in an operating position is arranged parallel to the surface of the metal strip (200) in the run-out of the cold rolling stand (300) and to arrange the nozzle in the operation position in such a manner that the cooling medium is sprayed at an acute spray angle ? into a cavity between the surface of the metal strip and the opposing plate, with a spray direction (R) opposite to the running direction (L) of the metal strip.

  • Patent number: 7107891
Abstract: A high-speed shear with a knife, particularly a chisel-type knife with a knife edge, arranged on at least one of two oppositely arranged drums, wherein the knife can be accelerated to the feeding speed of the rolled strip and the drums can be adjusted relative to each other for carrying out a cut. At least one drive unit provided for the drums serves to accelerate the drums to the speed of the rolled strip to be cut and at least one of the drums may be provided with a separately controllable adjusting device. The chisel-type knife of the knife drum is mounted so as to protrude from the cutting circle towards the anvil or the surface portion of the second drum acting as an anvil and to mount the chisel-type knife of the knife drum so as to be resiliently supported against a predetermined restoring force.
