  • Patent number: 6180243
Abstract: A compounded and plasticized vinyl chloride polymer layer, optionally supported with a fabric, contains an outer adherent, stain resistant layer having durability and flexibility. The adherent, stain resistant layer is derived from a water-based polyester-amino resin composition. The stain resistant layer comprises the reaction product of said polyester, an acid catalyst, and an amino resin. The vinyl chloride layer may be printed or embossed or both printed and embossed, optionally printed again, before the outer layer is applied. A laminate formed from the polyvinyl chloride polymer layer and the stain resistant layer can also be embossed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 28, 1999
Date of Patent: January 30, 2001
    Assignee: Omnova Solutions Inc.
Inventors: Jay A. Johnson, Marten S. Callicott, Richard W. Davis, Daniel C. Gottschalk, Joseph L. Pate, Joe A. Wright

  • Patent number: 5323982
Abstract: A weft supply system for a loom having a support frame with vertically extending support beams interconnected with substantially horizontal and vertically separated rods which form a plurality of vertically aligned creel support levels. Creel mounting means are provided on an upper surface of certain of the horizontal rods and a multi-bobbin creel is mounted by each of the creel mounting means. The weft yarn supply system includes yarn delivery apparatus associated with each creel support level. The yarn delivery apparatus includes a pneumatic threading system for threading the weft yarn through the yarn delivery apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4760977
Abstract: A holder (18) for receiving and frictionally securing a yarn package (12) wound onto tubes of various inner diameters. The holder comprises a base support which includes an arm (20) adapted to be attached to a textile machine. Extending at a right angle from the base arm is a cantilever contact are (24) which is rigidly connected to the base. The contact arm has a contoured support arm (28) pivotally connected to its free end and extending alongside the contact arm to a point near the base support which is biased outward by a spring (34). A second embodiment (118) has two contoured support arms, one (128) of which is pivotally connected to the contact arm (124) at a point (127) intermediate a free end portion. A resilient second contoured support arm (143) is affixed to the end of the contact arm and has a portion which extends generally transverse over the longitudinal axis of the contact arm.

  • Patent number: 4728055
Abstract: A holder (18) for receiving and frictionally securing yarn package (12) wound onto tubes of various inner diameters is disclosed. The holder comprises a base support which includes an arm (20) adapted to be attached to the textile machine. Extending at a right angle from the base arm is a cantilever contact arm 24 which is rigidly connected to the base. The contact arm has a contoured support arm (28) pivotally connected to its free end and extending alongside the contact arm to a point near the base support. A spring (34) is interposed between the contact arm (24) and the contoured support arm (28) and urges them apart, and against the inner walls of a yarn tube (13) placed about the contact arm and the contoured support arm.

  • Patent number: 4648564
Abstract: A yarn package holder device (10) is disclosed which includes a bracket plate (12) adapted to be mounted to a supporting structure (14). A circular cam (A) is rotatably journaled in the bracket plate and is eccentrically connected to a shaft (24) having a remote end affixed to an actuator lever (30) and handle (32). The actuator lever rotates the cam (A) and moves a cam surface (22) in an eccentric path. On the eccentric path, the cam surface (22) includes a lock position with the actuator lever (30) in a down set position. Lifting the actuator lever from the down set position quickly releases the cam lock provided between the cam surface (22) and a ribbed clamping surface (34) permitting rapid removal of an empty tube (38) from which a yarn package (40) has been withdrawn.
