  • Patent number: 9787587
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for secure bi-directional message routing between services running on a different nodes in a computer cluster. According to some embodiments, a multi-tenant computer cluster is accessed online via a controller. The controller, acting as central management system, may establish secure independent connections with each of the many nodes. Messages from the controller to any given node, and vice versa, are wrapped in a routing envelope and transferred over an independent and secure virtual private network tunnel. This allows the plurality of nodes to be centrally managed and utilized as a cluster while not being allowed to communicate with each other.

  • Publication number: 20140196491
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling the temperature of an electronic component of a computer. In one embodiment, a system includes a compressor, a compact cooling block, a condenser, and a controller. The compressor compresses or cools a refrigerant. The condenser receives the refrigerant and condenses the refrigerant. The compact cooling block is thermally coupled to an electronic component of a computer, receives the refrigerant from the condenser, transfers thermal energy from the electronic component to the refrigerant, and sends the refrigerant to back to the compressor. The controller is in electronic communication with the compressor and controls the compressor based on a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal in order to maintain a temperature range for the electronic component. In another embodiment, a system is provided that controls the temperature of a circulating liquid that, in turn, cools an electronic component of a computer.

  • Patent number: 8755945
Abstract: Methods and apparatus control the temperature of an electronic component of a computer. A temperature sensor is read that measures a temperature of an electronic component of a computer. The speed of a compressor is adjusted based on the read temperature to maintain a pre-defined temperature range for the electronic component. The compressor compresses a refrigerant. The refrigerant is sent to a condenser that condenses the refrigerant. The refrigerant is sent to a heat exchanger that is thermally coupled to the electronic component and that transfers thermal energy from the electronic component to the refrigerant. Finally, the refrigerant is sent back to the compressor. Solenoid valves can be used to control the flow of refrigerant to heat exchangers for one or more additional electronic components.

  • Publication number: 20080100935
Abstract: Molded vinyl sheets with optical quality surfaces and methods for making the same. The vinyl sheets are made by molding liquid vinyl in a mold. In embodiments, the mold forms parallel optical quality flat surfaces. In one embodiment, a stiffening plastic is molded in the middle of the vinyl sheet between the parallel optical quality flat surfaces. In another embodiment, the mold forms one optical quality flat surface while the surface parallel to the optical quality flat surface is bonded to a prism.

  • Publication number: 20050259509
Abstract: A kinetic shear mixer and method. In an embodiment, a kinetic shear mixer includes a first member having a first inner chamber portion and a second member having a second inner chamber portion. When coupled to one another, the first and second inner chamber portions form a substantially closed chamber. A shearing member is coupled to the first and/or second members. The shearing member is located within an area of the closed chamber through which material being mixed travels during movement of the mixer in a mixing operation. A vacuum can be applied through a port to the closed chamber during movement of the mixer in a mixing operation. Shearing members may be retractable. A moveable piston can also be provided. The mixed material may be directly injected by application of a pressure to the opposite side of the piston or to a separate injector piston.

  • Publication number: 20050203231
Abstract: A polymer slip for producing a ceramic body is disclosed. The slip includes a polymer, surfactant, dispersant and about 50-70 volume % ceramic powder. The slip can be set in a closed mold. In another embodiment, the present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a green body. The method includes contacting a ceramic powder with a polymer to form a slip mixture, mixing the slip mixture, injecting the slip mixture in a mold and setting the mixture in the mold at a temperature of about 20-40° C. The slip mixture comprises about 50-65 volume % of the ceramic powder.
