  • Publication number: 20130127117
Abstract: The present invention includes a game of skill and a game piece generally comprising a single strip having first and second ends, wherein said first and second ends are attached to one another to form a single endless ring having a corner on one side of said ring and a teardrop-shaped opposing side opposite said corner. In some embodiments the ring is a single continuous piece. Alternative embodiments of the present invention call for the game piece to be flexible, and for utilizing attachment mechanisms and curvature retention mechanisms to further adjust and retain the curvature of the ring, all for the purpose of affecting the trajectory of the ring when thrown.

  • Patent number: 6702722
Abstract: A vertically oriented exercise device for working out arms, legs or both arms and legs simultaneously is provided which includes a stationary base having a first adjustable vertical standard attached thereto. A rotatable pedal operated variable tension load wheel is provided near the bottom of the standard, and an adjustable seat is conveniently attached at a central location thereby allowing the user to comfortably sit while also reaching the pedals and hand grips. A second adjustable standard is provided which supports either a stationary handle or a pair of vertically oriented movable handles which are pivotally attached at the top of the second standard. The bottoms of the movable handles are attached through a set of linkages to the pedals on the load wheel. The linkages allow force applied by the user to the handles to directly turn the load wheel. Thus, the legs independently, the arms independently, or both the arms and legs together may be used to operate the load wheel.

  • Publication number: 20020198082
Abstract: The present invention provides the improvement of a free-standing base supporting a recumbent seat that may be used with any of a number of different existing pedal-operated exercise machines having only upright seats. The base is designed to be removably attached to the existing exercise machine to avoid separation during use, the seat being laterally and vertically adjustable by the user. In an alternative embodiment, the base and recumbent seat may be integrated into and made part of the underlying exercise device itself. Optional handles may also be provided on the recumbent seat.

A rotatable pedal operated variable tension load wheel is provided near the bottom of the standard, and an adjustable seat is conveniently attached at a central location thereby allowing the user to comfortably sit while also reaching the pedals and hand grips. A pair of movable, adjustable hand grips are provided which are attached through a set of pivoting linkages to the pedals on the load wheel. These linkages allow force applied by the user to the hand grips to directly turn the load wheel. Thus, the legs independently, the arms independently, or both the arms and legs together may be used to operate the load wheel. As a result, without exiting or changing anything on the exerciser, the user may shift the emphasis of force back and forth from the arms to the legs during a given workout.

  • Patent number: 4838568
Abstract: A propulsion apparatus for propelling an operator in earth traversing movement. The apparatus includes a frame mounting a pair of wheels which are operable to support an operator in earth traversing movement; a steering assembly borne by the frame and adapted to orient one of the wheels in a selected attitude; a pair of pedals rotatably borne by the frame and adapted to be individually engaged by the legs of the operator; and at least one reciprocally movable member slidably borne on the steering assembly and connected in force transmitting relation to one of the pedals, the member engaged by one of the hands of the operator and operable to impart physical force to the pedal thereby propelling the apparatus in earth traversing movement.
