    Abstract: A composite material includes individual layers each having a plurality of bands of polymeric tape disposed generally parallel to each other. At least one polymeric fiber is provided between adjacent bands of the polymeric tape. A matrix at least partially covers the bands of tape and the fiber. Together, the plurality of bands, the polymeric fiber, and the matrix form a single layer composite material, which can be further processed.
