  • Patent number: 9331384
Abstract: A combination battery and antenna includes a battery having a positive contact and a negative contact, at least one of the positive contact and the negative contact comprising an antenna coupled to a matching circuit and to a radio frequency choke, whereby direct current (DC) is supplied to a battery circuit and a radio frequency (RF) signal is supplied to an RF circuit, and at least one secondary radiator parasitically coupled to the at least one of the positive contact and the negative contact of the battery.

  • Patent number: 8723733
Abstract: A multiband antenna for a mobile device is disclosed. The mobile device includes a multiband antenna configured to communicate with a base station. The multiband antenna includes a ground plane, a ground plane extension, and a plurality of antenna arms. The ground plane, the ground plane extension, and the plurality of antenna arms are configured to communicate signals in multiple frequency bands, where the ground plane and the ground plane extension have a length proportional to approximately a quarter wavelength of a frequency in the multiple frequency bands. The mobile device further includes a modulator and demodulator configured to modulate signal for transmission and demodulate signal received from the base station, and a controller configured to control communication of signals using the multiband antenna and the modem.
