A virtualization engine is provided that includes an assessor and a scorer. The assessor carries out an assessment process, such as a system assessment, a component assessment, and a cost assessment that assesses the viability of the transformation. And, a scorer provides a quantifiable score of the assessment results. The score is used in the decision-making process to decide whether to transform the arrangement into the virtualized arrangement.
