  • Publication number: 20020066846
Abstract: A visor and document holder for a computer monitor is provided. The preferred embodiment includes a rectangular top member and first and second generally L-shaped side walls that cooperate with the top member to form a shroud extending perpendicularly to the screen plane. Side panels are carried by the side walls and extend in planes generally parallel to the screen plane to block light emanating from behind the computer screen from impinging on the user's eyes and causing unwanted constriction of the pupils. The visor/document holder has a center of gravity that lies forward of the computer monitor, causing a tendency of the device to sag and lose its vertical orientation. A pair of support tabs rest against the front wall of the monitor and prevents sagging and retains the vertical orientation of the device.

  • Patent number: 5905546
Abstract: A detachable and foldable visor is provided for use on a lap-top or portable computer monitor. The visor has a central panel and two side panels adapted to extend across the top and the sides of the monitor. Multiple score lines are provided between the central panel and side panels to facilitate using the visor on monitors of different widths. Mounting tabs are connected to or on the side panels which cooperate with a rubber band or other flexible retainer to exert a tensile force holding the visor onto the monitor. The visor is foldable into a compact and flat position in which it can be easily carried in the same case as the lap-top or portable computer.

  • Patent number: 4309046
Abstract: A binding element adapted for binding an apertured stack of sheets into a book. The binding element comprises a first binding strip from which project a plurality of spaced studs adapted to be positioned through the apertures; and a second binding strip having a plurality of openings sized to freely receive the studs to afford positioning the second strip over ends of the studs projecting beyond the stack of sheets. Blocks on the second strip can then be pressed into the openings to forcefully engage the studs extending through the openings with teeth along the walls of the openings so that the teeth will indent the studs and maintain the position of the studs in the second strip. The ends of the studs projecting beyond the second strip can then be removed.
