  • Patent number: 10455817
Abstract: We disclose a medical toilet that comprises one or more medical devices and a control for the metrics they collect. The medical devices may be used to collect metrics relevant to a user's health status. The medical toilet further comprises a conduit through which volatile organic compounds travel from the toilet bowl to the environment outside the toilet. An animal trained to identify the scent of bodily waste collected from a user that is afflicted with a disease perceives the scent of the user's bodily waste traveling through the conduit and performs a defined act upon perceiving the disease scent. The metric collected by the medical device(s) may be used to diagnose the same disease as that which the animal is trained to identify. The diagnosis provided by the animal by way of the conduit acts as a control for the metric collected by the medical device.

  • Patent number: 10444144
Abstract: We disclose a method of tagging nutritional or drug compositions using chemical entities which are known to be safely consumed and which are detectable using known techniques, including near IR spectroscopy. The chemical entities used as tags may be detected in easily obtainable biological samples, including urine and feces. The biological sample may be deposited into a medical toilet which may analyze the biological sample using an analytical device associated with the medical toilet. The tag may be identified and quantified to then identify and quantify the nutritional or drug composition the subject consumed along with the tag. This system may be used to track the source of a food or drug, confirm compliance to a prescribed diet or drug treatment, confirm drug consumption in clinical trials, identify the source of contaminated food, and identify the food substances used to produce food products.

  • Patent number: 10447490
Abstract: Disclosed herein are wireless devices operable at intermediate wireless at ranges of thousands of meters, utilizing packets that include a preamble and a data payload. Devices may be such things as keypads, door latches, occupancy monitors, sprinkler controllers and other devices needing a communications link. A digital spread-spectrum frequency hopping rotation is used, wherein packet transmissions rotate through frequency sequences. A spectrum-impact-smoothed channel set is fashioned using sequences that each specify a unique preamble frequency relative to the other sequences and channels. The set is traversed as packets are transmitted, thereby distributing the focused radio-frequency emission impact of packets having long preambles over time. Traversal of the set is by way of time slots relative to a point of synchronization in a first packet.

  • Patent number: 10408849
Abstract: We disclose a method of using taggants to assess how and to what extent a drug in a drug composition that a user has consumed has decayed in response to storage conditions and time. The taggants may decay in response to environmental conditions which cause different drugs to lose their efficacy. These environmental conditions may include light, temperature, oxidation, and age. The taggants may be detected in biological samples, including urine and feces. By identifying the taggants, the drug composition and other information relating to the drug may be identified. Additionally, quantification of the different taggants may be used to determine whether the drug in the drug composition has been exposed to environmental conditions which may reduce its efficacy.

  • Patent number: 10358868
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an embedded interconnecting drive system. The drive system is used to deploy and retract flexible, roll-up panels away from or onto a roller drum as the drum rotates on its longitudinal axis. In this invention, a plurality of cogs, each comprising a semi-tubular recess and tapered shaft, interact with each other to induce the flexible panel to move in concert with the roller drum as the roller drum rotates, preventing the flexible panel from unraveling on the drum. The cogs compel the flexible panel to deploy away and downward from the drum as it rotates deployingly, and to retract onto the roller drum as it rotates retractingly. This invention discloses details of the cog and a complimentary annular lock disc used to secure the cog to a flexible panel. Further, this invention discloses a plurality of embodiments of the embedded interconnecting drive system.

  • Patent number: 10308488
Abstract: A system and method for a load-facing winch are described for hauling or lifting loads at least 30° from center of the primary support object. The load-facing winch includes a winch-mount that includes a housing, a center-pivot, a mounting-plate, and a plurality of springs. The mounting-plate is attached to the winch and tilts and/or turns about the center-pivot, which allows the winch to face the load. • Patent number: 10280605
Abstract: The toilet bowl separately collects urine and feces for analysis or other uses. The toilet bowl includes a toilet bowl wall with at least two holes in it. The first hole is a fecal collection aperture positioned below a user where a user may defecate into it. The second hole is a urine collection orifice through which a user's urine may flow. The two holes may be separated by a ridge which may act like a dam to inhibit cross-contamination of collected feces and urine. Conduits may connect to the two holes to direct the waste into analytical devices or containers for additional uses including composters and digesters which produce clean energy.

  • Patent number: 10273674
Abstract: The toilet bowl separately collects urine and feces for analysis or use in a composting device, waste digester, or to reclaim water. The toilet bowl includes a toilet bowl wall. Urine flows down the toilet bowl wall into a channel for collection. The channel surrounds an aperture into which feces may be deposited. Consequently, urine and feces are kept separate during collection. Both the channel and the aperture may be connected to conduits which may transmit material into analytical devices. The conduits may transmit material into digesters in appropriate amounts including controlling the amount of liquid added to solid material. Collected urine may be stored for water reclamation. Sensors may confirm the absence of fecal matter in collected urine or detect contamination. After separate analysis, feces and urine may be combined through connecting conduits then disposed of in the sewer system or sent to a composting device or waste digester.
