  • Publication number: 20190069353
Abstract: The invention is a dimpled wok. A wok, or any other bowl-shaped cooking surface, is fitted with one or more discrete cooking surfaces along the inner sloping walls. The discrete cooking surfaces, which are containers for food, may be bowl-shaped, creating “dimples” in the pan, or they may be oval with flat bottoms, or they may resemble a shelf. The discrete cooking surfaces have lower cooking temperatures than the bottom and walls of the pan. This allows food to be pushed, conveniently and easily, away from the high-temperature cooking that takes place at the bottom of the pan, and into the separate discrete cooking surfaces, where the food may be held to be warmed, and not overcooked. The dimpled wok may be an electric wok, equipped with a central heating element, or a heating element in each of the dimples.

  • Publication number: 20190056016
Abstract: A gear-shifting device is disclosed. The device comprises a first motor having a first rotor. The first rotor turns clockwise and counter-clockwise, creating a wobbling action. The device further comprises a compound planetary transmission, comprising a transmission ring attached to a ring gear. The compound planetary transmission receives power from the first rotor. The device further comprises a second motor having a second rotor. The second rotor turns clockwise and counter-clockwise. The device further comprises a shift assembly, comprising a drum, a cap, and a pinion gear. The pinion gear receives power from the second rotor. The drum locks with the pinion gear such that the drum rotates with the pinion gear. The transmission ring is attached to the drum, such that the transmission ring moves laterally as the drum rotates. The ring gear locks and unlocks with the cap as the drum rotates. The wobbling action enables the locking.

  • Publication number: 20190053674
Abstract: An antimicrobial toilet includes an inner surface of a toilet bowl which includes a non-doped titanium dioxide coating. The titanium dioxide coating is photocatalytic and antimicrobial in the presence of ultraviolet (UV) light. In the absence of UV light, the inner surface of the toilet bowl is not antimicrobial. The UV light source may be actuated after the waste has exited the toilet bowl. Consequently, the waste may be used in digesters used to produce clean energy or for analysis to assess the user's health status without being exposed to the antimicrobial properties of the titanium dioxide coating. The UV light may then be actuated to disinfect the toilet bowl. The outer shell of the toilet is coated with a doped titanium dioxide. The doped titanium dioxide is photocatalytic and antimicrobial in the presence of visible light. The outer shell is antimicrobial when standard room lights are actuated.

  • Publication number: 20190054895
Abstract: A parking brake and anti-theft apparatus as described herein may include a brake assembly, a linear actuator and a plurality of locking pins. The brake assembly may include a rotor plate. The rotor plate may include a plurality of openings in and/or through the rotor plate. The plurality of locking pins may be extendable by the linear actuator. • Patent number: 10209264
Abstract: We disclose a method of using taggants to assess how and to what extent a drug in a drug composition that a user has consumed has decayed in response to storage conditions and time. The taggants may decay in response to environmental conditions which cause different drugs to lose their efficacy. These environmental conditions may include light, temperature, oxidation, moisture, and age. The taggants may be detected in biological samples, including urine and feces. By identifying the taggants, the drug composition and other information relating to the drug may be identified. Additionally, quantification of the different taggants may be used to determine whether the drug in the drug composition has been exposed to environmental conditions which may reduce its efficacy.

  • Patent number: 10203305
Abstract: The tandem differential mobility spectrometer (DMS)-ion modulator instrument provides improved resolution relative to traditional DMS for molecules with larger masses. The instrument includes multiple ion-bunching electrodes, each with an AC field synchronized to the transit time of the ion flow which is positioned downstream of a DMS. The ion bunching electrodes produce each a mobility-dependent modulation of the ion current. The ratio of AC to DC current provides a measure of the mobility of a large ion, even if it has little differential mobility, thereby extending the useful range of mobility characterization of a DMS system. The instrument does not require high voltages or high frequencies. Modulation before DMS separation or between tandem DMS separations produces a variable range of analyte and reactant ion densities as well as spatially separating negative and positive ions to reduce ion recombination.

  • Publication number: 20190045519
Abstract: Disclosed herein are wireless devices operable at intermediate wireless at ranges of thousands of meters, utilizing packets that include a preamble and a data payload. Devices may be such things as keypads, door latches, occupancy monitors, sprinkler controllers and other devices needing a communications link. A digital spread-spectrum frequency hopping rotation is used, wherein packet transmissions rotate through frequency sequences. Used is a spectrum-impact-smoothed channel sequence, each channel specifying a unique preamble frequency relative to the other sequences and channels. The set is traversed as a broadcasted stream is transmitted, thereby distributing the focused radio-frequency emission impact of packets having long preambles over time. Packet acknowledgments are deferred until a group of packets in a stream has been exchanged.

  • Patent number: 10196809
Abstract: The invention is a modular building component with rod-based dimensions. The modular building component comprises a prismatic box structure. A number of the prismatic box structures are placed side by side horizontally to create a ceiling and a floor with rod-based dimensions. The ceiling and the floor function as components of a building with rod-based dimensions. The building may also have walls that are also prismatic box structures with rod-based dimensions. Two or more of the buildings can be placed side by side to fill equal portions of an entire width of a perfect-acre lot. The buildings that fill an entire perfect-acre lot lead to a sustainable community design, given that no space is wasted. The rod-based building components are properly dimensioned for quickly assembling these optimally sustainable buildings.
