Abstract: An apparatus is provided to evaluate the physical condition of a user based on personal data provided by the user and measurements taken by the device. Results of the evaluation and health-related information that corresponds thereto are output for display on a screen and/or printed. Embodiments include a kiosk, such as a stand alone structure or a sit down unit having a touch screen, which typically shows a series of advertisements and inducements. When the user touches the screen, the screen prompts the user to enter personal information, such as age, height, gender, and general physical condition. The kiosk measures the user's weight with a built-in measuring device, instructs the user to place their hands on a set of electrodes, then performs body fat composition measurement employing conventional body fat analysis techniques, such as boielectrical impedance analysis (BIA).
