  • Patent number: 10195470
Abstract: A system and method is provided for demand-based control of a cold water spray system of an exhaust ventilation system. Embodiments include determining a demand load of a cooking appliance that generates cooking effluent in a vicinity of an exhaust hood, and determining a temperature of water in the cold water spray system. The cold water spray system is controlled in response to at least one of the determined appliance demand load and the determined temperature of water in the cold water spray system to maintain a low temperature of water in the cold water spray system below a predetermined temperature threshold, thereby enabling efficient removal of contaminants from the exhaust hood by the cold water spray system.

  • Patent number: 10107904
Abstract: X-band and P-band synthetic aperture radars are used to simultaneously gather swaths of reflected radar data over a specific area simultaneously. The P-band is used to penetrate surface clutter that may be on the top of an ice formation as well as to penetrate an ice mass. X-band is used to map surface clutter on the top of an ice formation as well as to map the top of snow that may appear on an ice formation. Digital elevation maps of the top of the snow or ice clutter, the top of the ice, and the bottom of the ice and or ice thickness are constructed. By summing these various digital elevation maps a measurement of the thickness of sea ice can be determined. Further analysis of DEM, MAG and CRV layers provides an indication of the quality of the ice, for example cracks and pressure ridges, and its weak points.

  • Patent number: 9341991
Abstract: An electrophotographic printer having an intermediate transfer belt (ITB) module having an endless belt wrapped around a first and second roll and a plurality of imaging drums, all mounted in a frame between a rear panel and an access panel pivotally mounted to the front panel. The first and second rolls lie in an ITB reference plane and the imaging drums lie in an imaging drum reference plane that is mutually planar to the ITB reference plane. A camming device, mounted to one of the front panel and the access panel, rotates the access panel to provide a skewing adjustment to ITB module and plurality of imaging drums to substantially correct a skew error caused by the racking of the front panel with respect to the rear panel with the access panel maintaining mutual planarity between the ITB reference plane and the imaging drum reference plane.
