  • Publication number: 20140055625
Abstract: Implementing compliance management includes displaying a checklist of inspection items on a display of a mobile communications device at an inspection site of an entity. Each of the inspection items is mapped to a corresponding compliance code governing environmental regulatory requirements for operation and maintenance of the entity. The compliance management also includes receiving a user response indicative of an inspection condition for each of the inspection items. The user response is implemented via an input control on the mobile communications device. The compliance management further includes transmitting user responses over a network to a centralized database system. The centralized database system provides web-based access of the user responses to the entity over the network.

  • Patent number: 8306873
Abstract: There is a media distribution system and method configured to distribute media over a computerized network including a media distribution module configured to selectively permit access to media over a computerized network and including a user interface module. The media distribution system also includes an operational administration module in communication with the media distribution module and configured to facilitate operational management of the media distribution module by selectably altering operational parameters of the media distribution module. In addition, the media distribution system includes a supervisory administration module in communication with the operational administration module and configured to selectably determine operational parameters available to the operational administration module for control. Furthermore, the media distribution system includes a network module in communication with the media distribution module and configured to transfer data over a computerized network.

  • Publication number: 20060091981
Abstract: A method (200) of frequency trimming an electronic device (100) such as a resonator or filter can include the steps of providing (202) an external trimmable portion (10) of a multi-port trim network and selectively removing (204) at least a portion of the external trimmable portion to selectively increase or decrease the frequency of the electronic device. Selectively removing can include selectively removing (206) the portion of the external trimmable portion to selectively increase the frequency by reducing a parallel capacitance of the external trimmable portion or alternatively selectively removing (208) the portion of the external trimmable portion to selectively decrease the frequency by increasing a series inductance of the external trimmable portion. Trimming of the frequency up or down can be done without affecting (210) any main resonating structures of the electronic device and without adding (212) metal to the external trimmable portion.

  • Publication number: 20020198925
Abstract: A time-partitioned system for accounting for processor time consumed by operating system services provided on behalf of an application runs in a real-time environment. The time utilized by the operating system is treated as application processing time, rather than viewing the resultant processor time consumed as an operating system overhead. Each application consists of one or more threads. A time budget is assigned to each thread and to each interrupt. The processor time consumed by the operating system when executing on behalf of a thread or interrupt is charged back to the application or interrupt as part of the application's time budget. Operating system overheads and processor interrupts are thus accounted for accurately enough to determine a schedule for the applications that is enforceable by the operating system at run time.

  • Patent number: 4899844
Abstract: A method and tool for acoustically logging a wellbore where a transmitter simultaneously generates a plurality of separate acoustical signals having different frequencies, each effectively centered about a different resonance frequency, and then transmits the signals as a composite multi-frequency output signal having an effective broad frequency bandwidth that is capable of exciting pressure waves in a variety of different types of earthen formations.

  • Patent number: 4885967
Abstract: A laser alignment device which can be detachably mounted on a lumber cutting machine for assisting an operator in properly aligning a workpiece before cutting it into strips of desired widths. The device includes a frame which supports laser devices for projecting cutting-lines on the workpiece, which are visible to the operator. The laser devices are movable on the frame and their positions may be adjusted independent of each other so as to be in alignment with the respective saw blades disposed within the lumber cutting machine. The device further includes devices for locking the desired positions of the laser devices on the frame.

  • Patent number: 4362589
Abstract: A method of manufacture of a tapered wood beam, such as an I-beam, is described. With such method an I-beam of uniform width including a web member of uniform width and a pair of first flange members attached to the opposite sides thereof, is first produced and then cut into two portions by sawing the web member of such beam along a diagonal line to form two tapered web members each attached at one side to a first flange member. The resulting I-beam portions are then assembled by releasably fastening, such as clamping, the first flange members together in back to back relationship so that the sawn edges of the tapered web members are facing outwardly and parallel to form an assembly of substantially uniform width.
