Abstract: A cochlear implant system in which information about the periodicity of a received audio signal in each filter channel is used as a factor in determining the rate of stimulation applied to a tonotopically placed electrode corresponding to the relevant filter channel. As such, the stimulation rate for each electrode is related to the periodicity of the signal in the filter channel corresponding to that electrode. This may allow for improved perception of pitch by the implant recipient.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for channeling water flowing off the roof of a structure. In one embodiment, the water channeling system includes a gutter, a gutter cover and a clip. The clip is configured to be positioned substantially within the channel defined by the gutter and to engage an inner surface of the gutter lip and a concave portion of the front wall of the gutter. The clip defines an upwardly directed groove that is configured to receive the front edge of the gutter cover.

Abstract: An animal treat method includes placing at least one animal treat into an interior compartment of a container having an opening through which the at least one animal treat can be dispensed. A first interlocking closure member is inserted at least partially within the interior compartment and extends through the opening to an exterior of the container. A second interlocking closure member is removably secured to the first interlocking closure member and over the opening, such that dispensing of animal treats from the interior compartment via the opening is impeded.

When the incoming signal is processed by filter array (35), each channel is processed to determine amplitude (37) and to estimate the period of the signal in that channel (39). The amplitude and period information is used to determine which electrode is stimulated, and the timing of that stimulation.
