  • Patent number: 9296114
Abstract: The articulated multiple-axis robot structure has a frame, an arm and a forearm, a shaft for attaching a tool, an actuator commanding the pivoting of a slide-socket, an actuator commanding the pivoting, a rotatable nut-socket, and a coupling device for securing the sockets in rotation. The coupling device having a coupling washer between the sockets and connected in rotation with one of the slide-socket and the nut-socket. The coupling washer is movable between a coupling configuration, in which the translation of the shaft relative to the forearm is locked, and an operating configuration, in which the translation and rotation of the shaft relative to the forearm are freed by a first electromagnet.

  • Patent number: 9243906
Abstract: A system and related method is disclosed for automated setting of a barometric altimeter onboard an aircraft. The system may receive inputs from a plurality of integrated systems and, based on those inputs, automatically set the barometric altimeter to the proper setting for safe operation of the aircraft. Recognition of a voice command from an onboard operator as well as from an offboard source, and parsing of received METAR reports coupled with positioning information may form the basis of the integrated inputs. Once the barometric altimeter is automatically set, the system notifies the crewmember of the new barometric altimeter setting.

  • Publication number: 20130228031
Abstract: The articulated multiple-axis robot structure according to the invention has a frame, an arm and a forearm, a shaft (15) for attaching a tool, an actuator commanding the pivoting of a slide-socket (14A), which is rotatable relative to the forearm and translatably connected to the forearm, an actuator commanding the pivoting a nut-socket (14B) that is rotatable relative to the forearm and connected in translation to the forearm and a coupling device capable of securing the sockets (14A, 14B) in rotation. This device comprises a coupling washer (18), arranged between the sockets (14A, 14B) and connected in rotation with a first socket from among the slide-socket (14A) and the nut-socket (14B).

  • Patent number: 8477047
Abstract: The present invention is a communication system for implementation on-board an aircraft. The communication system includes an Audio Control Panel (ACP) including a first input device associated with an installed component and a second input device associated with an uninstalled component. The communication system further includes a Radio Interface Unit (RIU) which is communicatively coupled to the ACP. The communication system further includes an Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System (EICAS) which includes a Display Management Computer (DMC), the EICAS being communicatively coupled to the RIU and an Aircraft Personality Module (APM) of the communication system. The DMC may be configured for evaluating an input device status (generated based upon an input received via the second input device) against an APM configuration file, and based upon said evaluation, providing an aural and/or visual alert to a user that an input device associated with an uninstalled component has been activated.

  • Patent number: 7122348
Abstract: This invention pertains to methods for promoting stable and site-specific integration of rep deleted recombinant adeno-associated virus vectors which result in less variable transgene expression and increased safety. These vectors are useful for delivery of a functional gene product to the desired intracellular location.
