    Abstract: The invention provides a circuit for arbitrating access to a common resource by a pair of processors using an asynchronous sequential logic circuit. A latch circuit is held in a pseudo-stable state until one or more requests are received from the processor and is then released to toggle to a stable state to allow one or the other of the requests. The grant signal to the selected processor is made available thereto only after a predetermined period of time which is larger than the time required to stabilize the latch circuit.
