  • Patent number: 10861166
Abstract: A method for restoring images in a sequence of images, including, when it is applied to a first image in the image sequence: estimating an item of information representing a global motion of a background of the first image with respect to a second image; compensating for said global motion of the background in the second image in order to obtain an adjusted version of the second image, referred to as the adjusted second image; obtaining a contour of an object of the first image by applying a segmentation method using the adjusted second image; using the contour of the object thus obtained in order to estimate an item of information representing a global motion of the object; and applying to the first image an image restoration method using the information representing the estimated global motion of the background and the estimated global motion of the object.

  • Patent number: 10837777
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for maintaining the attitude of a carrier, the device comprising three primary gyroscopes (1, 2, 3) that are arranged to measure primary speeds of rotation (Rbc) of a carrier about three primary axes, a secondary gyroscope (4) that is arranged to measure a secondary speed of rotation (Rhp) of the carrier about a secondary axis that is different from each of the primary axes, a video camera (5) having an optical axis that is different from each of the primary axes, and a data processing module (6) that is configured to estimate scale-factor and drill errors that corrupt the primary speeds of rotation (Rbc) using data issued from the secondary speed of rotation (Rhp) and images acquired by the video camera (5), and to correct the primary speeds of rotation with said estimated errors.

  • Patent number: 9510013
Abstract: A method for estimation of motion in a series of images captured by an image sensor comprising an estimation of motion vectors at a plurality of points from an image by an operation, done at each of the points from the plurality of points, of minimization of a functional of motion vectors comprising the sum of a data term and a regulation term, where the data term is made up of the product of a weighting term which is a function of the degree of regularity of the estimated motion vectors and a data linkage term which is a function of the spatial-temporal gradients of the brightness near points located in a neighborhood of a point, where the regulation term supplies a result to the minimization operation for the points near which the minimization of the data term does not allow estimating a unique solution.

  • Patent number: 8873809
Abstract: The invention relates to a method which uses a series of images sensed by an image sensor including at least one preceding image and one following image to estimate movement. A first estimated movement is initially obtained by estimating the total movement from the preceding image to the following image. Next, an image compensated according to the first estimated movement is obtained from either one of the preceding and following images. Then, a second estimated movement is obtained by estimating dense movement between the compensated image and the other from the preceding and following images. Next, a residual value of global movement is determined. Finally, if the residual value is lower than a threshold value the second estimated movement is provided; otherwise, the preceding steps are repeated.

  • Patent number: 8654202
Abstract: In a system for capturing a series of images of a scene comprising an image capture device having a matrix of flux detectors which is oriented along a sighting axis (z), comprising a stabilizing module which stabilizes the sighting axis of the captured images, the sighting axis being instilled with a defined, cyclic, motion, the following steps are applied to a series of successive images (N1?K) captured during a cycle. Steps /i/ and /ii/ are repeated from the first image captured up to the last image captured of the series and an intermediate image (IIntermediate) is obtained •?/i/ registering a subsequent image (Ni+i) on a preceding image (Ni) as a function of the defined motion; ?/ii/ correcting spatial noise relating to the flux detectors and affecting the common part of the images.
