    Abstract: The invention concerns a device for carrying out a reaction in liquid medium during which there is gas evolution. The inventive device comprises at least: a static mixer (3) wherein emerges at least a pipe (1) supplying liquid medium; a cyclone reactor (4) connected to said static mixer (3) and provided with a vent (5) for evacuating the gas or gases formed and means for evacuating (6, 7) the liquid medium. The invention also concerns a method whereby a reaction is carried out in liquid medium during which there is gas evolution. The invention can be used particularly for a reaction involving a peroxide such as hydrogen peroxide and, in particular, for reducing chlorine contained in a liquid effluent.
