Patent number: 11022453Abstract: Recommended route change verification via a navigation system. The navigation system receives a destination from a user and then determines an initial route to the destination. While navigating along the initial route, the navigation system can determine a route change to the destination. Also, a convergence point is determined along where the initial route and the first route change converge. In order to verify that the route change is faster than continuing along the initial route, a first group of users utilizing the navigation system are routed along the initial route to the convergence point and a second group of other users are routed along the first route change to the convergence point. If more of the first group of users pass the convergence point before the second group of users, then the route change is recommended to the user rather than continuing along the initial route.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2018Date of Patent: June 1, 2021Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Joel Duquene, Morris S. Patent number: 10795529Abstract: A screen sharing session between a participating computer and a presenting computer can be established. A copy of a graphical user interface screen from the presenting computer can be presented within a display on the participating computer. A selection of the sub-portion of the copy of the graphical user interface screen from the participating computer can be received. Boundaries of the sub-portion can be determined and can be transmitted from the participating computer to the presenting computer. Responsive to receiving the boundaries, the remotely located computer can define the sub-portion of the graphical user interface screen of the presenting computer. The defined sub-portion of the graphical user interface screen can be conveyed over a network from the presenting computer to the participating computer without conveying data for other portions of the graphical user interface screen.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2013Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Ying Chen, Joel Duquene, James P. Publication number: 20200143821Abstract: Examples of techniques for protecting sensitive information are disclosed. Aspects include receiving a request from a first user to listen to a recording and obtaining the recording the recording comprising an audio track and an identification of one or more participants in the audio track. Based on a determination that the first user is one of the one or more participants in the audio track, aspects include playing the audio track in an original format. Based on a determination that the first user is not one of the one or more participants in the audio track, aspects include playing the audio track in a modified format.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2018Publication date: May 7, 2020Inventors: MORRIS S. Patent number: 10567257Abstract: A method for bandwidth-sensitive content sharing can begin with the establishment of a content sharing session between two or more end-user devices by a bandwidth-sensitive content sharing system. At least one of the two or more end-user devices can be a mobile device having a network constraint and/or a data usage constraint. A bandwidth limitation can be determined for the mobile device from network connection data and user data. The bandwidth limitation can indicate a restriction to content sections of a content item the mobile device is to receive during the content sharing session. The content item shared with the mobile device can be filtered based upon a priority value for each content section of the content item. A content section can be an identifiable and discrete encapsulation of data within the content item. The filtered content item can satisfy the bandwidth limitation of the mobile device.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2018Date of Patent: February 18, 2020Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Lori L. Patent number: 9967358Abstract: A computer-implemented method for collaborative caching of files during a collaboration session includes receiving a request from a first electronic device for a first file. The method determines whether the first file is stored in one or more caches, wherein the one or more caches are associated with one or more electronic devices. Responsive to determining the first file is stored in a cache of a second electronic device, the method determines whether the first file stored in the cache of the second electronic device meets a set of guidelines. Responsive to determining the first file stored in the cache of the second electronic device meets the set of guidelines, the method sends the first file from the cache of the second electronic device via an internal network to the first electronic device.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2015Date of Patent: May 8, 2018Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Joel Duquene, Morris S. Publication number: 20170322799Abstract: In an approach to section level version control, a computing device fetches one or more changesets associated with a section of code to generate a change history. The computing device displays the change history. The computing device displays markers to identify changes to the section of code. The computing device sorts the change history by timestamp. The computing device displays a virtual preview of a prospective change to the section of code.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2016Publication date: November 9, 2017Inventors: Joel Duquene, Morris S. Patent number: 9727444Abstract: A debugging module determines by analysis of code build information of a system with an identified error, where to set a debug entry point at which to start execution of the system during a program subset debug session. Debug entry point metadata for the program subset debug session is captured in association with a subsequent execution of the system. The captured debug entry point metadata includes an initial file state of at least one file accessed by the system, any file inputs and file outputs (I/Os) detected as being performed by the system during the subsequent execution of the system up to the debug entry point, and an image of all instantiated objects at the debug entry point.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2016Date of Patent: August 8, 2017Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Richard A. Patent number: 9635180Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to call center wait queue management and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for call-back reservation services in a remote call center computing environment. In an embodiment of the invention, a call-back reservation method can be provided. The method can include receiving a telephone call to a remote call center from a caller, informing the caller of a reservation options menu, calculating multiple reservation time-slots to accommodate the caller's schedule, such that the reservation time is based on caller's personal preference, assigning a call-back reservation token to the caller, disconnecting the caller from the remote call center, and providing the caller with access to a remote call center agent at the reservation time when the caller reconnects to the remote call center.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2008Date of Patent: April 25, 2017Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Ying Chen, Joel Duquene, James P. Patent number: 9628548Abstract: A computer system for collaborative caching of files during a collaboration session includes program instructions for receiving a request from a first electronic device for a first file. The program instructions determine whether the first file is stored in one or more caches, wherein the one or more caches are associated with one or more electronic devices. Responsive to determining the first file is stored in a cache of a second electronic device, the program instructions determine whether the first file stored in the cache of the second electronic device meets a set of guidelines.
