  • Patent number: 9585478
Abstract: Among other things, a seat includes a base; a back-supporting surface coupled to the base; and a seating surface movable relative to the base in a direction of motion toward and away from the back-supporting surface. The back-supporting surface has a lower portion nearer the seating surface that is movable, relative to an upper portion of the back-supporting surface that is farther from the seating surface, in the direction of motion as the seating surface moves in the direction of motion.

  • Publication number: 20030046107
Abstract: A method of providing medical services comprises assigning trained medical representatives from a central office, who are employed by the central office, to locations remote from the central office, providing medical services to patients by the medical representatives at each location while linked to and under the supervision of a licensed physician and billing each patient for medical services provided to that patient by the medical representative through said licensed physician. The patient, licensed physician or medical representative submits the bill to an insurer for reimbursement. The method fulfills all of the responsibilities, duties and services of a trainer at a school without the school paying for the professional service, thereby eliminating the need and expense of a trainer at a school.

  • Patent number: 5058209
Abstract: A glove having the thumb pocket connected to the finger portion so as to restrict movement of the thumb portion away from the rest of the glove thereby preventing damage to certain ligaments of the user's thumb should the thumb be bent abnormally.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 23, 1990
Date of Patent: October 22, 1991
    Inventor: Joel H. Eisenberg
  • Patent number: 4787376
Abstract: A removable retainer for the radical side of the thumb pocket of a glove, which retainer restricts the radial movement of the thumb in the glove away from the other fingers so as to prevent damage to the ligaments of the thumb should radial force be applied to the thumb.

  • Patent number: 4653490
Abstract: A glove having a retainer disposed adjacent to the outside of a thumb portion so as to restrict movement of the thumb portion away from the rest of the glove thereby preventing damage to certain ligaments of the user's thumb should the thumb be bent abnormally.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4410199
Abstract: A cross-country ski boot binding having a pivot, the pivot disposed so that when a ski boot is in place on the binding, the skier can tilt the boot forward about the pivot thereby providing a rearward driving force or "kick" for an attached ski without any appreciable use of the ankle, foot or leg muscles.

  • Patent number: 4253252
Abstract: A ski boot comprising an outer boot having a sole on which an improved foot supporting insert rests, the insert including a footbed supported by a rear heel balance post, a central metatarsal balance pad and a forward toe balance pad, the insert forming and holding the foot of a skier in a functional cavus or high-arched foot positon when a foot is placed thereon and being laterally tiltable relative to the sole within the boot upon inversion or eversion of the foot thereby creating a weight shift which is transferred to a lateral edge of a ski attached to the boot causing the ski to turn.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 14, 1979
Date of Patent: March 3, 1981
    Inventor: Joel H. Eisenberg
  • Patent number: 4144659
Abstract: A ski boot comprising an outer boot having a sole on which an improved foot supporting insert rests so as to be selectively laterally tiltable relative to the sole within the shoe. Inversion or eversion of the foot alone causes the insert to tilt, thereby creating a weight shift which is transferred to the lateral edge of a ski attached to the boot causing it to turn. Skiing maneuvers are, therefore, accomplished without twisting the torso or laterally moving the knees of the skier. The insert includes a foot supporting portion made of a suitable material and configured so that in its free state it does not necessarily conform to the sole of the foot of the skier, but which does so conform when it is mounted in a ski boot and the foot of the user is operatively mounted in the ski boot on the insert. The insert is also adapted to be used with an ice skate shoe for use in ice skating and functions essentially in the same manner as when incorporated in a ski boot.
