  • Publication number: 20240057990
Abstract: A suture anchoring system includes a suture anchor and an anchor insertion device. The suture anchor has an elongated anchor body having proximal and distal ends and a long axis, with an elongated axial drive opening extending along the long axis. A plurality of axial drive grooves has a long axis parallel to the long axis of the elongated anchor body, a radially inward and axially extending groove opening communicating with the axial drive opening, a contact surface radially outward from the groove opening, and side surfaces connecting the contact surface and the groove opening. The radially outward contact surface has a greater width than that of the groove opening. Threads are provided on the outside surface of the anchor body. The drive shaft has radially outwardly extending axial drive projections configured to mate with the axial drive grooves.

  • Patent number: 11350925
Abstract: A button inserter apparatus for the insertion of a surgical button includes an inserter handle and an elongated inserter shaft connected at one end to the inserter handle. An inserter head is connected to the inserter shaft at an end opposite to the inserter handle. The inserter head includes opposing engagement projections for engaging and retaining a surgical button there between. One of the engagement projections is longitudinally movable relative to the other of the engagement projections. A button engage and release assembly extends from the inserter handle to the inserter head, and selectively prevents relative longitudinal movement between the engagement projections, and selectively permits relative movement of the engagement projections and thereby release of the surgical button. The engage and release assembly is operable from the inserter handle to cause relative longitudinal movement of the engagement projections and release of the surgical button.

  • Patent number: 9162089
Abstract: Disclosed is a harness system that can be used in both restraining and extracting a wearer. The harness takes the form of webbing that may be integrated into a crewmember worn vest. The webbing includes extraction loops for use in hoisting the crewmember and a release mechanism for releasably coupling the harness to an external restraint, such as an overhead reel. The system can be used within a vehicle, such as a land based vehicle, a water going vessel, or an aircraft.

  • Patent number: 8662436
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for selectively adjusting the maximum payout of a tether from a reel assembly. The maximum payout can be selected by the user via a dial indicator on the end of the apparatus. By rotating the dial, an internal pawl is positioned relative to an associated ring gear. The ring gear includes a cut-out about its peripheral edge. The shaft of the reel assembly is rotatably interconnected to the ring gear via a series of gear reductions. After a predetermined about of tether has been paid out, the pawl encounters the cut-out about the ring gear. This, in turn, causes the pawl to engage the reel shaft to prevent further rotation. The maximum payout is determined by the initial spacing between the pawl and the cut-out.
